Good burritos are to be found all around Los Angeles--at Chano's, El Tepeyac, Los Burritos, the El Coyote Cafe, Lucy's El Adobe, King Taco, etc. I'll bet you can't even find a burrito in all of London. And it's a safe bet that nowhere in London can one find a pastrami sandwich that can hold a candle to the ones available at Langer's Delicatessen, across from MacArthur Park.
Well, you don’t move to London for the Mexican food (thank God) or because of the pastrami. In fact, in the tourist area pubs they have signs that read: “Salt beef is NOT pastrami.” But if you want to see the greatest of theatre, London is for me!
(On the other hand, the author of this tripe doesn’t like L.A. improv comedy. Where does she think all the great American comics come from??)
We used to go for lunch in East Los Angeles, to eat at “El Tepeyac.” First timers would be told they got their lunch free, if they ate the “Manuel’s Special” burrito.
A few tried, but none succeeded.
I believe the percent of the population which is Hispanic is higher in San Antonio TX and in Santa Ana CA, than in Lost Angeles.
I feel far safer behind the Orange Curtain in the OC.
They were trying but they weren't even close. We got a big laugh out of it but we didn't laugh until we left.
