SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Hector "Macho" Camacho, a Puerto Rican boxer known for skill and flamboyance in the ring as well as for a messy personal life and run-ins with the police, was declared dead on Saturday, four days after being shot in the face. He was 50.

Camacho’s matches with Sugar Ray Leonard, Robert Duran, Oscar De La Hoya and Julio Cesar Chavez were classic.

He could beat the best of them.

Unfortunately he couldn’t discipline himself... he was his own worst opponent.

The most memorable fight of Mancini’s that I can remember is the one he had on CBS against Duk Ku Kim, in which unfortnately, Duk Ku Kim ended up losing his life. It was after this fight, I believe, that boxing changed title fights from 15 rounds to 12 rounds.
