The most recent word out of Google is that Google Glass isn't going to use "augmented reality" – where data and illustrations overlay the actual world around you.

Riiiiight.....people are just going to be watching porn on them.

Sort of reminds me of the wrist watch radio Dick Tracy used or the shoe phone Maxwell Smart had. The trick is to find a way to wear your computer.

Wonder if they have consulted with Navan Johnson on possible lawsuits down the road.

Futureama had an episode on this a few years ago. They called it...

Use your imagination where the gadget got inserted. Eyedrops not included!

Healthwise, wouldn’t this be the equivalent to walking around with a cell phone strapped to your head?

Brain tumor, anyone?

Vernor Vinge’s book “Rainbows End” provides an interesting take on a future with incredible advances in wearable computing/ubiquitous computing.

After the glasses, the next step will be a contact lens:

How about using smart glasses for something more quotidian, like vision correction? With lenses that emit a counter-blurred picture for the near- or farsighted to see properly?

Granted that it's not a whiz-bang idea, but it'd sell like hotcakes. No more paying for new glasses [or lenses, which cost close to a new pair] just because you need a new prescription.

It won’t be long until someone is found with their car wrapped around a telephone pole with a porno running in these glasses.

I wonder what people will be like in 100yrs if we keep finding ways to input and increase the data we are exposed to?
