In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Sang-froid
Noun
[French : sang, blood (from Old French, from Latin sanguis) + froid, cold (from Old French, from Vulgar Latin *frigidus, alteration of Latin frgidus; see frigid).]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

That was good for you!
I was outnumbered 8-1.
We always go to my Dem MIL’s house...thankfully NO politics. Then I get away around 5 to go visit my girlfriend and her family. After that it is back to my MIL’s for sandwiches and all those who missed the earlier dinner show up. I had lots of wine so I was mellow.
Looks like the news is evolving on the Walmart strike. In DC area 200 union workers were bussed in to picket. Unclear if any workers walked off the job for this strike.
We had a very nice Thanksgiving. I finally decided to use the crock pots as I’ve seen recommended. Mashed potatoes were prepared and put into a crock to keep warm. I heated the soup and milk for green bean casserole on the stove but mixed everything and put into another crock to “cook” - it worked perfectly. Everything was warm and ready when the turkey was carved. I can’t believe I never used this system before.
Then there was that failed TV pilot about a cool-headed junk man — Sang-froid & Son
At Macy’s I noticed a three crock crockpot for smaller dishes to keep warm. I think I drooled over it. LOL
Carl Jung loved to sing, yet he did not compose any music of his own, so he typically sang-froid.
LOL A++
Oh I missed the news of the day requirement. Well I saw the Hostess Twinky stuffed turkey article. When I was trying to get my half frozen turkey to give up its giblets for the second time, the beast was very sang-froid about the whole thing.
I am not there yet on the election. A+++
LMAO A+++
Opera for Shrinks. “You are nuts”, sang Froid, “and you hated your daddy's guts”, sang Froid,
(chorus) “You're crazy as loon, everyone will know it soon! Sangman Froid, Sangman Froid”.
“I like my cigar better,” sang Froid, “and I'll quit being a bed wetter.”, sang Froid.
(chorus) “Sangman Froid, Sangman Froid, drop the cigar for steroids, you'll have your mommy's love if you give that needle one deadly shove, Sangman Froid, Sangman Froid”.
Beware...It sounds much better than what it is. Stay tuna in.
ROFL A+++
I have seen those - they are very tempting
God Bless Bibi. i love him.
OMG i may have to go back out after a nap! i meant to drive by the walmart this AM and totally forgot. Xsgirls, xsboy and i left at 4:30 am for black friday at the outlets. it wasn’t as good as last year. i was surprised xsboy came along, he’s never come before. we had breakfast at wegmans when we were done. now i am ready to sleep. xsboy went back to bed, xsbrownie cannot fall back to sleep, and xsteen went out to get a mani/pedi. xshub had to go into his ofc since his big meeting is next week in Tucson.
xskid and i went to see Lincoln last night. it was good. Daniel Day Lewis makes a very convincing Lincoln.
Nothing amiss at the Walmart in Secaucus.
