Link to the auction site. If you have a spare 50k or so, will make a good Christmas gift!
“Two vehicles sure to attract serious attention from collectors are an American GMC DUKW and British Humber Hexonaut GS, amphibious trucks used to transport Allied troops and supplies over land and water during the war. The Hexonaut GS is the only one of its kind known to exist. Vintage 1940s motorcycles are also on the docket, including a 1942 Harley-Davidson UA with sidecar and a 1941 Indian 841 with saddle bags.
WWII German halftrack armored personal carriers, such as the Hanomag Ausf. C and the Hanomag Sd. Kfz. 11, are also scheduled to cross the auction block alongside more than 100 pieces of war memorabilia including a German 8.8 cm Flak 36 gun and an American white M16, also known as the Meat Chopper.

I dig the Dragon Wagon!
Who wouldn’t love to have a tank? or at least an IVF?
Who wouldn’t love to have a tank? or at least an IFV, heh
This thing was a steal!

Yeah, I wanted one of those to cruise the streets. My guess is I would have been stopped by cops several times! haha.
The only problem with it was the top speed, but it was street legal.
This site has some newer ex-National Guard vehilces. This one has tempted me:
“M37 1952 Dodge, 3/4 Ton, 4X4, Hard Cab, New Wheel Cylinders, Carburetor Over Hauled, New Batteries, 17,208 Miles, Good 900x16 Military Tires. A very nice local truck from Idaho’s 116th, and with some history. Drive it Home. $7,500 “

“street legal”
yup.
It’s still available, is it not?
Sweet!
No.
It’s been sold.
Way back when there was a 1/2 track for sale in a used car lot in Inglewood, California. It had rubber on the tracks. It seemed to be in decent shape but I don’t recall the asking price.
Used to be a few retired colonels around here that had “ducks” in their barns. One came out for a parade many years ago- never heard what happened to them.
Still some M715’s around...

The Boston “Duck” Tours folks will probably be in line to bid on any DUKWs there; their fleet has to be maintained, and any additions just mean more money for them.
It’s a fun tour by the way; worth it if you ever are stuck in Boston.
