You guys are making me cry
4 years ago, I adopted a cat from the no-kill shelter down the road. They gave me a copy of this. I’ve kept it & occasionally read it, especially when the furball is driving me nuts!!
A cat is much more of liberal's pet. Haughty, aloof, entitled, and never thankful for what is given.
Which is why I don't understnd FR's obsession with cats. Even, yes, even the viking kitties. They should be viking dogs.
Thanks for the post.
Number 1 is so true. If my dog sees me grab my gun and doesn’t get to go he freaks out and doesn’t behave for my wife.
On the drive for a hunting trip he will not quit whining. My hunting buddy who gives me dirty looks when I miss. :)
I’m no liberal & I’ve had cats all my life. My boy is none of the way you described cars, either. He’s an affectionate & loyal sidekick who takes care of himself & dosen’t depend on others to meet his needs (litter box)
Cats not cars. Fat finger
I’m speaking in generalities. I’ve known a cat or two that was okay. Dog-like, in fact.
“A cat is much more of liberal’s pet. Haughty, aloof, entitled, and never thankful for what is given.”
You clearly never have had barn cats.
A couple months ago, one of ours brought me a rattlesnake she killed. Probably 4 feet long. Very proud she was!
You misunderstand cats. Haughty= self assured in their abilities, aloof=they really don’t need you to get by, entitled= payment for dusting the furniture and eating bugs, and never thankful for what is given= just waiting for you to kick it and have real meal.
Works for cats too. I lost one of my cats last month and I still miss her. She was the last of three kittens we adopted, along with the mother, in 2001. We only have the mother left and one male cat, unrelated but she adopted him like a son. I’m glad because she was so close to Whitey, her daughter.
Cats are independent, clean, not smelly, low maintenance, quiet, and absolutely dependent on humans for a quality life. Adopting either a rescued cat or dog makes you feel that you’ve done something good and helped at least one cat find a loving home. But most cats go on to live a long and happy life in their new homes and are grateful in their way for a new life. They sure as hell are happier in the hands of a loving owner than in a cage or shelter or on the street.
Doggie Ping
Put a little vaseline on each front paw; s/he’ll lick it off and pass the furball right out, provided it’s not the size of a baseball. After 57yrs of cats, it’s worked most of the time.
My cats teach me how to tolerate liberals!
Today my old rescue dog lost control of her bladder and my rescue cat threw up on the rug. It was nice to see this on FR. It reminds me of my duties to these pets.
We have an 8-year old Persian cat. We got him from a breeder and bought him home at about eight weeks. Buddy is very aloof and self-absorbed and not at all affectionate. The only time comes near us is when it’s time to fill his wet food dish at 1630. He knows when it’s time. Anything else just interferes with his Olympic sleeping.
No animal on the planet is haughty, aloof, or entitled you dumbass.
They're animals.
that’s right! I lost two dogs this year, basically old age. My german shepherd had Addison’s disease and I had to carry her outside to do her thing because she was too weak to make it back inside. This went on for two months, yet as weak as she was, she would struggle, stagger into the living room, finally lying her head on my feet, while both of us watched with tears in our eyes till she finally gave up on the living room floor last year soon after Thanksgiving. She was gentle with kids, herding them around the yard when they strayed, but a fierce home defender, backing up to me, showing and growling whenever someone she didn’t know came into the home that was her responsibility. She was a typical shepherd of Czech/W german imported blood.
We now have another partner, a malinois, super intelligent and amazingly athletic, but still something of a wild and crazy puppy. Sometimes I would trade my longer life for the short, fast and intense life of a dog, it isn’t so bad.
