A cat is much more of liberal's pet. Haughty, aloof, entitled, and never thankful for what is given.
Which is why I don't understnd FR's obsession with cats. Even, yes, even the viking kitties. They should be viking dogs.
I’m no liberal & I’ve had cats all my life. My boy is none of the way you described cars, either. He’s an affectionate & loyal sidekick who takes care of himself & dosen’t depend on others to meet his needs (litter box)
“A cat is much more of liberal’s pet. Haughty, aloof, entitled, and never thankful for what is given.”
You clearly never have had barn cats.
A couple months ago, one of ours brought me a rattlesnake she killed. Probably 4 feet long. Very proud she was!
You misunderstand cats. Haughty= self assured in their abilities, aloof=they really don’t need you to get by, entitled= payment for dusting the furniture and eating bugs, and never thankful for what is given= just waiting for you to kick it and have real meal.
My cats teach me how to tolerate liberals!
No animal on the planet is haughty, aloof, or entitled you dumbass.
They're animals.
that’s right! I lost two dogs this year, basically old age. My german shepherd had Addison’s disease and I had to carry her outside to do her thing because she was too weak to make it back inside. This went on for two months, yet as weak as she was, she would struggle, stagger into the living room, finally lying her head on my feet, while both of us watched with tears in our eyes till she finally gave up on the living room floor last year soon after Thanksgiving. She was gentle with kids, herding them around the yard when they strayed, but a fierce home defender, backing up to me, showing and growling whenever someone she didn’t know came into the home that was her responsibility. She was a typical shepherd of Czech/W german imported blood.
We now have another partner, a malinois, super intelligent and amazingly athletic, but still something of a wild and crazy puppy. Sometimes I would trade my longer life for the short, fast and intense life of a dog, it isn’t so bad.
Years later a man started a fight in my LR. My 60lb dog hid under my bed.
It's true that cats can be more independent than dogs but I have some very needy cats. One in particular that cries if she doesn't know where I am.
You couldn't be more wrong. You apparently have never owned a cat.
Which is why I don’t understnd FR’s obsession with cats

Get over it.
As you know everyone has an aperture that discharges waste and an opinion.
You are definitely ‘allowed’ an opinion, but so are we.
Cats are independent, proud AND self sufficient, only needing a ‘hands up’ from us - MY cats are very thankful and loyal.
Want to go on a trip for 3-4 days, put out a few bowls of dry food (one that he/she doesn’t really like), refill the wet food and water. The cat will pace itself and won’t starve as he/she will have the food they really don’t like as a backup.
Try that with a dog and all the food will be gone by the time you get out of the driveway.
All above traits NOT found in your typical Liberal.
You've never been around the right cats...
Cat's if raised with love, are every bit as loving as any dog.

—No man is their master
—If the food dish is empty, they're willing to hunt for themselves.
—They choose their friends carefully, and love them unconditionally.
—which takes me off on a tangent—
My greatest shame— I feel like crying when I think of it— of all the sins I beg God's forgiveness for, the very worst in my own mind is that when I was 12 or so I was suddenly, stupidly, unreasoningly cruel to a cat that had known and loved me since I was eight. I was instantly, and forever after, sorry for it, and things were never the same between me and my Tiger. She died of old age twelve or so years later, when I was overseas.
I'm a 48 year old man, and I still want to cry thinking of it.
Be as good to your animals as you want God to be to you. You are god to them, after all, even if they (as cats, or dogs, or fish) express it differently.
I was going to smack ya, but I see that others have done it already.
Cats and dogs have their own personalities. Some cats seem to be as you describe, but that is from some human like you anthropomorphizing them. Never ascribe human emotions to animals.
We have three cats, and they’re all as sweet and loving as can be because they have known nothing but our love all their lives.
Miss Hissy Slashy was a challenge, but she came around eventually and loves a tummy rub as much as the next cat.
