Mia Love was supposed to be the first black Republican woman in Congress.
The daughter of Haitian immigrants, Love was the mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah, a recently-incorporated, fast-growing suburb of Salt Lake City.
She had a newly redrawn Congressional district that put six-term Congressman Jim Matheson, a Blue Dog Democrat and a member of a politically prominent Utah Mormon family, in a precarious position.
She had a big-time spot as a speaker at the Republican National Convention.
She had Republican All-Stars like Condoleeza Rice, John Boehner, Paul Ryan, and Mitt Romney raising money and programming robocalls for her.
And shed even been the star of one of those new Im a Mormon LDS Church public relations campaign videos.
The Salt Lake Tribunes pollsters gave Love a 12-point lead on November 2.
But against the odds, Jim Matheson held onto his seat, as Love failed to launch her Congressional career.

I spent a week in Utah in Mid Oct. Lots of negative ads on TV against Love, did not see many pro Love ads? Looks like a lot of help from the DNC to make sure she was defeated.
In Utah? Seriously the 6th district is mainly Salt Lake City which leans Democrat.
I keep that in mind when I see the evil rising in this world. Truth is always more beautiful than deceit.
Two Republicans lost in Arizona, also, where Libertarians took 6% of the vote in both races. And someone commented on another thread that a fourth was lost in the Midwest (can't remember where).
Right now anyone who was in that 6% better keep it to themselves, lots are less happy with them than with nobama.
By next election we better figure out how to get them to re-join us or we join them, if it isn’t already too late.
The Dems keep trashing beautiful, couragous, kind, intelligent conservative women. They do this as they tell their constituent women that they are nothing more than sex objects. So the GOP says that R’s need to act more like the D’s.
No thanks. I’ll continue to respect Sarah, Mia and FReeper women for what they truly are: Beautiful, couragous, kind, intelligent and conservative!
Mia Love was run by Establishment RINO’s.
She meant well.
Palin tried to reach out to the Love Campaign, even advertised their money bomb, but the idiotards running the Romney Campaign told Love to stay away from Palin.
The Establishmentards running Love told her to keep Palin away. The result? The Libertarians walked off with the Movement Conservative vote.
We will stop worry about the Libertarians when we start running Reagan Conservatives again and stop running RINOS.
Best,
Chris
With all the Mormon back and forth talk, has it been mentioned that Mia Love is, herself, a Mormon?
Fascinating, too, that her “I’m a Mormon” video entry in that advertising campaign has been changed to private on Youtube.
