How to Find Non-Union Labor Companies in Your Area?

Anyone know a good website to find non-union labor (electrical, plumbing, auto, etc.) in your areas?

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: unions
I'm DONE with using union labor to work on ANYTHING I own. Nor will I any long buy a union product if I can help it.

You may have to end up visiting prospective businesses and viewing the signage, though a lot of union places proudly advertise their affiliation. Why not visit a union hall and ask for union references. Don’t tell them that this is your black list!

Better yet. Call and ask if they use union labor.

If they say yes, say you’re sorry to hear that and move on to the next.

Sounds good to me. We need lists if it can be done.

I’ve been having similar thoughts but on a much grander scale; No business with democrats. What is needed is a site along the lines of Angie’s List made up of strictly conservative businesses.

Good thought, but eventually it will be hi-jacked. There are Democrat DU lurkers in here at this moment, I'm sure.

I think a list from our personnal acquaintances/contact is our safest bet.

There was at one time in OKC, a business phone book for Christian businesses to place their advertisement. Don't see that anymore, but believe me, all things will be Hi-jacked by the Devils.

Any particular state you have in mind? That might help narrow it down.

Not all states have right to work laws.

Just finished dumping UPS and signing on with FedEx. Last I know FedEx was non-union.

That's a great idea.

Perhaps "Patrick's List" (Patrick Henry)

I recently hired a non union electrical contractor to wire up a standby generator and his price was half of what a union contractor quoted me. They simply charged by the hour and for any material. The electrician who worked for the company told me he left the union and was happy he did so. Anytime I have the opportunity I go non union.

Depending on this size of the project (home building vs. home repairs e.g.)it can be difficult but not impossible.

For anything I need to have done in my current home like electrical or plumbing, I always use a small local companies.
It’s taken a few years to build up contact information for specific type of jobs, but it has been worth it.
My neighbor (the good one:)) and I keep an index of companies/people we’ve used and share it.

For building of a new home, much more difficult to try and exclude subcontracted union labor even in a right to work state.

Go to the actual article. BTW - got kids in school? Might want to look into homeschooling because the teachers will probably be in the NEA.

Oh and I always pay in cash for those whom I’ve done business with multiple times.
I could care less if they pay taxes and cash makes it a lot easier for them to make it under the table if that’s what they choose to do.

One of the best ways to find out if a business owner is a liberal is to act like one yourself. Act like you’re happy about the election results and the response will tell you everything you need to know.

They are terrible at keeping their cards close to their chest.
I had a carpet guy come in to give an estimate (best estimate) prior to the election. I was portraying myself as the dumb blonde and got him to speak politics and let him talk and talk and talk.
I said thanks but no thanks and I don’t care if you beat the competition. I have my reasons.
I didn’t tell him why I didn’t give him my business because I didn’t want him knowing to change his approach.

Had lawn sprinkler system put in. Found out the plumber was non union, have used him since. He even gave me a senior discount. Found an electrician through my church that is non union. Have used him a couple of times. Talk to people and there are a lot private people that used to work for large shops but have been laid off because of no work. They are available and eager for any job

YOUR Post#15:""Oh and I always pay in cash for those whom I’ve done business with multiple times.

I do too and for the same reason, I do not car if they put it under the table, in fact I encourage it.

That's not an easy one for me, but I will try. I would have to tell him why though. They don't get a second chance.

I personally have my Vendor list, non union all, have used them for over 25 years now, property manager here.

Met up with a OBOT yesterday at the beauty shop, he told my hair dresser that the price of gas will be coming down down down now. I asked him if he voted Obama, YES he said proudly. My hand went up, I came close to slugging him, no kidding, my hair dresser had to hold my arm down, I had a few rings on as well.

I did get to tell him to GET THE HELL out of my face. I think he left with joy in his heart.

Why don't we just use Free Republic for referral purposes?

I'm in Okla., property manager, and I have a list of Vendors that I have used for over 20 years now. All reliable, non union businesses & conservatives. From plumbing to A/C work, reasonable as well.

Electricians? well they are a unique breed of workers. If the weather is great, that is fishing day. If it is raining, it is to dangerous, if this, if that etc. They just don't seem to want to work much. Have yet to find a reliable one in OKC yet. They may go out, they may not, just depends on their mood.lol
