Gov. Rick Perry's Facebook page is definitely interesting right now, to say the least. There is a lot of talk, urging him to consider having Texas secede from the union.
While I believe that talk of secession is a bit dramatic right now, I understand where people are coming from.
Frankly, I would support getting a coalition behind Gov. Perry for 2016 to take back the White House!
Thoughts?
If Texas leaves the union, my husband and I will move there in a heartbeat or quicker.
Link to his FB page?
Why soil his dignity and occupy the White Hut? He can be the first President of the newly re-constituted Republic of Texas.
Just let me in before they close the gates!
Yes, this is idiotic and it is never going to happen.
Further, within another generation Republicans/conservatives will have a hard time winning even Texas due to the explosion of Democratic voting Hispanics.
You might want to find another state if you are thinking long term.
I vote for The Republic of Texas. My ancestors were here back then and I would be thrilled to live to see it again.
And I say; Good for him.
I would move my family there as well.
Yeah, good luck with 40% Hispanic population and growing rapidly, the Republic of Texas will be the Republica de Nuevo Texas, a budding banana republic or a Mexican drug proxy. And that is a big if... Obama will be the new Lincoln after crushing Texas’ secession.
As a Texan I can say, the reason why Dewhurst did not get elected as senator was PERRY!! The two of them are big spending anti-Tea Party Rinos. Perry was a democrat till Bush was elected govenor. Our tax rate is in the middle of the country because of fees and crap that are hidden in the Tx cost of doing business. Our property taxes are off the chart. School Kids get the same liberal crap as those in Calif or Mass. /another post election rant
Looking at the map, I think it's clear that a sea of red means secession is now an increasingly likely event. I am not happy about that, because we all know what happened last time, and it was horrible.
But this time, the economics of it are reversed. To the extent that this country has an industrial base, it is now in the south, not the north. To the extent that we have an advancing and growing portion of our country, it is in the south now, not the north as it was in the Civil War.
Question is, at what point does that great sea of red on the electoral map finally get fed up with the fruits of their production going to dark blue cities filled with moochers and diversity consultants.
Can Oklahoma come? PLEASE?????
Which party?
The RINO Party?
or
The Conservative/TEA Party?
Thanks to mass immigration, Texas will be a battleground state within a few more election cycles.
Once enough conservatives have had enough of blue-state B.S., their emigration to TX will easily offset the demographic explosion of Hispanic Donkey voters. Texas could become a gigantic Galt’s Gulch, and could incorporate OK, LA, and other states as well. Then the libs in the rump states can go pound sand.
I’d like to see my state of Michigan start awarding electoral votes by congressional district. I’d also like to see that disastrous 17th amendment overturned so we could get senators that actually represent the state again.
Go Texas go....oklahoma will follow....start the process...
