I'd consider other Red areas too.
Chile, Sweden, Denmark??
Tenn is wonderful .
Nashville or Knoxville or Chattanooga .
Keep away from
Memphis
Thanks. I have an “In” in Knoxville. Seems like good, honest hard-working people there.
We moved to NW GA from the Lehigh Valley when I was 46. Took an IT job in Chattanooga, TN. We love it and tell folks all the time that we fled the Northeast, so I know exactly where you are coming from. We traded our 13-acre farm for a 60-acre farm and had extra money to boot. We love it!!
If you are socially humanist - anti-Christian - please don’t come to Texas. The reason we are not your state is because we still have Christian American-American morals and values in the public square - to an extent. Even in business. :)
No offense, but I have found that there are a lot of New England and NE US freepers who are as much a RINO as their politicans. If you meet the non-RINO requirement, we welcome you to Texas with open arms.
Hey that is something to brag about. Congratuations to the okies. Way to go.
Flagstaff has pleasantly warm summers and is relatively free from severe weather, but its winters are as long and as cold as those in Vermont. Prescott's winters aren't quite as cold.
I drove through Winslow last summer, and it seemed to be economically depressed. Holbrook's economy seemed to be better. Show Low, to the south, also seemed to be a nice place to live.

Thanks... Hopefully we’ll be the first to assert 10th ammendment rights and outlaw Obamacare.
I’m thinking Texas is allready poised to do this.
If we don’t, we’ll be looking at massive layoffs soon.
Hot temps and high humidity are your friends, in Texas. Be forewarned.
My sweetheart & I lived in Marietta before job opportunities brought us to Ohio. We drove through our old stomping grounds recently on the return trip from a beach vacation, and fell in love again! We were thinking of moving northwest of Atlanta somewhere in the foothills, but like the OP have to get rid of this house that’s dragging us down (among other things). Our plan is to try to put the house up for sale in a year or two. We think it will take that long for us to get on our feet somewhat, especially with this election result. We long to live a semi-rural life but near the city within reason. The dream is to live where the backyard backs up to a lake. We don’t need 60 acres, but a few would be REALLY nice!
My first love is Scottsdale, where my son was born, and then Sedona. There is one huge rock with what looks like a man standing on the top that is all mine! We’ve been to the Snow Bowl a couple of times to ski and have a very special restaurant in “downtown” Flagstaff. Whole lot less expensive at the Snow Bowl than Colorado and the grandsons loved it. But we’ve also seen times when there was absolutely no snow. We also like the proximity to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and California where we only go to visit for a day trip. We also like the White Mountains and Apache Trail area.
But then we spent a couple of weeks in Alabama and Mississippi on the coast and it was so nice to hear everyone speaking English for a change.
Just lots of options and wonderful people here in the U.S. if you look for them.
>>> Safrguns, IIRC, I remember you from the games ping list. Ever play World of Tanks? The French AMX-40 tank looks like a duck. B-)
lol yeah!... I drive a Chaffee and Sherman mostly. WOT and Minecraft are my favs right now.
I live in Pa as well. I am considering going Galt.
Anyone thinking the same way FRmail me.
Just over five years ago we moved from Northern Virginia (Fairfax County) to North Mississippi, Desoto
County. There are no traffic jams, plenty of jobs and a climate not too different than that in Virginia.
I have a Sherman, the basic model, a FRench B1 (that’s a real slug), one M5 Stuart and 2 M3 Stuart, both US and Lend Lease versions. I also have the first British tank. What’s your name? I’m NowhereMan1966.
>>> Whats your name? Im NowhereMan1966.
Ummm... its Safrguns ;)
We should start platooning.
I have lived in Texas all my life except my military years. I am sorry to say with the ever expanding Hispanic base Texas will be a blue state within the next 10 years.
we are looking at Georgia...come next summer we hope to be relocated there..I’m going house shopping there in December...
Daughter lives there and son recently relocated to NC...so we will leave the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the state of our birth, we left once before in our youth to find jobs and went to Ohio and lived there 52 years...returned here in retirement and the worst mistake we ever made...
so it won’t be difficult for us to leave PA.
