Word For The Day, November 6, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
rebuke [ri-byook]

-n
sharp, stern disapproval; reproof; reprimand.

He gives all his homilies the same from what I have seen. I didn’t notice any increased anything during that homily compared to his others. He is new, so folks don’t know him all that well.
Dad’s second new car was a ‘51 Special four-door with a straight 8.
When he traded it in on a ‘55 Super hardtop with a V-8, we considered ourselves rebuked.
I’ve never heard of a priest apologizing for homilies-did someone complain to the senior priest, or do I live a sheltered life out here? I can’t imagine a parishoner out here calling the archdiocese in SA to complain-and our priest has made sure since at least August that we know which candidates are pro-life and for religious freedom...
We don’t even have a bishop, the one from the next diocese is in charge of us. So I am clueless. We have had in the past parents go to the bishop, our last one, and tell him his priest was sexually abusing our boys. Not unheard of here. However, I hear there is someone without an annullment who was objecting. I know no more than rumors about that.
Oh the lefties are ALWAYS walking out if they are offended by a conservative priest’s homily and they are ALWAYS call the Bishop in Arlington to complain. ALWAYS.
Ti, let me know if you need the st raymond website again to pull up for these jokers.
Thank you for the “happiness” comment, xs-church is not supposed to be rated like TV shows.
I empathize with ti-MrT5 and I quit going to our parish church in SA and went to another 6 miles out of the way because we did not like the decidedly liberal tone of the priest-MrT5 referred to him as that heretic-and my first husband and I quit going to St. Matthew’s and started going to Prince of Peace in the mid-80’s because the new priest at St. M was a flaming liberal who was into open borders.
Yeah, give it to me. Do you remember what week it was he addressed that?
Finley Peter Dunne. Didn’t Jonah pick apart that phrase in a recent article?
Yes, Robert Reich tweeted it last weekend (in all seriousness) and it stuck in Jonah’s craw.
The irony of Clinton lecturing on a president lying is almost too much to be believed...
I just saw on Fox that the offensive mural is now partly covered with some sheets of paper-they can’t send someone to a WalMart to buy a couple of $5.99 tarps?
Wow. What a homily that last one was. God Bless him.
Update: there is an investigation going on into the NAACP handing out water and moving people along in the line for voting in Houston. They extremely sissy acting head of elections in Houston was like a cartoon of a human man so I couldn’t even focus on his excuse of why no one stopped them, but the anchor on the news said it was still being investigated.
Did you notice they did not cover his logo or his name? That is outrageous. They should be prosecuted.
I do not understand why anyone lets these people get away with all of their shenanigans. It’s time to start enforcing some laws and having people pay some fines and do some time.
I saw that, and you’re right-someone should have to very least...
Oops-computer hiccuped-someone should be fined at the very least...
