Thats a real nice story, you had yourself a good dog. You’re right about NM squirrels, they look too small to eat.

My grandpa told me the prarie dogs are good to eat; just that they are greasy. Which means all I need is a pinch of salt, a fire and a frying pan.Maybe potatoes =) And I know where to find em. Got that 22 rifle also.

I had corn, beans, and squash, along with pig and beef. I left the NM rodents to the skinny dog (she was a sweetheart).

I tried a NM squirrel once. I'm a culinary school graduate, and eat tree rats here off the property in Texas.

I wouldn't ever eat a NM tree rat again.

Maybe it's because of the pinon nuts or the pine cones or something.
