I have cut off all ties to my liberal friends except two. The only way we've remained friends the last four years is to not talk politics because when the least casual political topic arose, we would end up not speaking to each other for weeks. These two are as extreme left-wing as anyone can be. They are extreme morons politically.
The only reason I continued the relationship is that they are good people. I have always believed that they *think* they are left-wingers out of ignorance and possibly are one issue voters as they are two women living together for the last 25 years. If they could just be shown the light, they would vote differently. Perhaps I rationalized the relationship, but they have been good friends to me over the years. The help you bury the bodies type of friends.
They started a food trailer business with $20K seed money from a Conservative. They have since borrowed $2K from a Conservative sister and I have given them $10K. With the economy as it is, it has been a struggle for them.
They admitted tonight that they applied for all the various small business help they thought the Democrats would give them. The only people that helped them were we three Conservatives. Since they believed that Conservatives only cared about themselves and Democrats helped one another, it was a rude awakening. Last week they said they could not in good conscience negate the votes of those that helped them. They decided to stay home on election day.
Tonight they announced they have seen the light. The economy that they had stated in the past was fine, is killing them. They need the economy improved and the kicker... they need less government involvement in their business to succeed! They are voting for Romney on Nov 6.
It has renewed my faith in Americans. If these two are voting for Romney, he should win in a landslide.
Awesome!
“They started a food trailer business..”
The “You didn’t built that” may have added a bit to their vote decision too.
My ultra-liberal brother, unable to defend another vote for Obama, told me he was going to write-in Ron Paul. I asked him what part of Paul’s platform he agreed with and he couldn’t give me even one example. Smart money says he’ll vote for Obama but was just embarrassed to admit it. If he feels that way about the man, why give him his vote?
Fantastic! Nothing changes a liberal’s mind like being mugged by reality—in this case Obama’s reality...
Hope it’s catching!
What if they go back to being idiot liberals after the election?
I’m always skeptical of bouncies like this, but it would seem that they are intellectually honest. Good luck to them.
FABULOUS news!! I’ve been trying to convince my 1 and only Obama voter friend but I think he’s a hopeless case. He refuses to see the truth for some reason. Oh well, I’ll cancel out his vote so no worries.
I doubt they will because they are now business people.
is their food trailer about to be forced to sell fresh veggies?
I’m especially glad as I didn’t know if I would be able to speak to them again if O won. It was hard to be my bonny self around them in September. I’m glad I chose to not let it get in the way of our friendship. Two more votes and we get to remain friends regardless of the outcome of the election.
My Aunt & Cousin who usually vote down the line D, voted for Romney..& my Aunt is usually a guarantee lib voter, county worker etc..but is also a devout Catholic. After all this time, she’s now seeing the light! Said it was all the talk about birth control, abortion. Could be the fabricated “war on women” is backfiring?
Wonder how many others in same boat??
I have heard a few of these anecdotal comments, but I never take them to heart. What I do consider somewhat reassuring is that I have not heard any of the opposite. Noone who voted for McCain is going to vote for Obama. In 2008 we heard the opposite. There were all the seminar callers to the radio programs stating that they voted for Bush twice but would vote for Obama. I don’t hear any of that anymore.
Congrats on your relatives!
I hope it is by the bazillions. Crossing my fingers. ;0
I don’t know how old your friends are, but am reminded of the old saw “If you aren’t a liberal when your 20, you have no heart - but if you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 40, you have no brain! (And I’d put conservatives hearts right up there with anyone).
The difference is, conservatives really truly want your friends to succeed. We know this is the path to prosperity whereas liberals just view successful business people as greedy and unfair.
Suggestion: Have your friends watch this video. It will confirm they are on the right track. And congratulate them from all of us!

Please convey my wish of a huge success with their business. I wish them well. And, also welcome aboard. There is always room for more conservatives on the bus.
They are in their fifties.
Thanks for the video.
I will and thank you.
Cool, and keep your cool.
Do like Rush does and let them come to your view on their own, don’t smother them, don’t trigger a defensive reaction from them.
In a perfect world, you are so cool, that in time, they start arguing your view back at you, as though you are the one who needs to see the light, to be made more pure.
That is heavenly when that happens.
