Northeast FReepers who were affected by Sandy, please check in here when/if you have power to let us know your status. Tell us what, if anything, you need so we can organize help or get help to you. If you can, share your story with us. Tell us how you weathered the storm, what the condition is of your house or property, loved ones, pets, neighbors, etc.
You're in our thoughts and prayers. If we can help in any way, let us know!
Trisham has been on, pinging trisham to check in here with status.
Pinging Stag and Neets, they haven’t posted in quite some time, don’t know if they are still wandering this forum or not!
Were so glad to hear from each of you and thankful that youre alive and mostly well. Keep us posted on your ongoing recovery. And, please, do let us know if we can help in any way. (Seriesly)

Thank you to all who abused ping lists for this thread! Updates to follow as necessary.
GeeBee equals GodBlessUSA. She has been pinged here and also at Amy’s Place but I have not heard from her. I do not know if she stills lurks on FR.
GeeBee ... if you see this please check in.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
I promise my snarks will be more enthusiastic once we get our power back. I have to run from library to library to get 15 minutes of computer time to snark on FR. Very tiring!
Has anyone established a fund where we can donate to FReepers affected by the storm? Or even a P.O. Box where we can send clothing and other needed items? I’ve already donated to Salvation Army but I want my money to go to my FReeper family, specifically.
Thanks for letting us know that you heard from her, Amy. Please tell her that many of us were worried. Glad to know she and her parents are safe.
Comforting news!..Glad you and your parents are safe, GeeBee..Thank you for letting us know..(((HUGS)))
Excellent!
Thanks so much for checking on me. It’s been crazy but we are very fortunate.
I hope you all are doing well. I’m not here much as I’d like but still visiting and check in on FRiends / threads. Thanks again!
Praying for our Country.
HUGS
Hello GeeBee, How good it is hearing from you! I can’t tell you of the times I’ve thought of you and wondered if you were okay, etc....
Don’t stay away too long. Glad things are well with you all.
Miss you lots,
((((HUGS))))
Jane
Welcome.
What was the damage out your way?
Great to see you here, GeeBee. You and your family have been in our prayers.
I’m not here as much lately but I try to check in occasionally. Don’t stay away so long! Hope you will stop by once in awhile to say “Hi”.

Hi Amy,
We appreciate the prayers so much.
I’ll pop in on the thread soon to visit with you all.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)
HUGS
We have a hemlock pine that is pining for the fjords, a fence that no longer fences, and some shingles blew off the outbuilding.
The power company, Orange and Rockland, insisted that tehre were “only three people” without power on our road
They also claimed that they didn’t know what the problem was.
Funny, it couldn’t possibly be the pulled pole switch and open line fuse above it, could it?
Naaaah, that’s not possible.
The phone company, Frontier, kept having to fill a generator so that there were phones here.
I told the Frontier guys what O&R was saying, and the Frontier techs went, “Yeah, only three houses without power yet we have to fill this generatior? Hang on.”
They pitched a fit to their supervisors, and within two hours of that event on Thursday, we had power back.
As did all fifty buildings on the entire street...
Sorry you did get some damage.
It’s good there was not a lot of rain or I think we would have lost a lot more trees. The wind looks like it damaged some evergreens. They look brown from wind burn. I really hope they recover.
Nice, you talked to them personally and not have to deal with O/R ignoring the situation. LIPA failed here big time, they were were so unprepared. Management is in for some trouble, hopefully.
I want to move to a red state ;)
We expected the cedar to come down.
That the phone company had to gripe to O&R before power came back on is.. interesting.
No matter how many times we or our neighbors called in to O&R to report the issue, they insisted that we were all hallucinating.
