We have a hemlock pine that is pining for the fjords, a fence that no longer fences, and some shingles blew off the outbuilding.
The power company, Orange and Rockland, insisted that tehre were “only three people” without power on our road
They also claimed that they didn’t know what the problem was.
Funny, it couldn’t possibly be the pulled pole switch and open line fuse above it, could it?
Naaaah, that’s not possible.
The phone company, Frontier, kept having to fill a generator so that there were phones here.
I told the Frontier guys what O&R was saying, and the Frontier techs went, “Yeah, only three houses without power yet we have to fill this generatior? Hang on.”
They pitched a fit to their supervisors, and within two hours of that event on Thursday, we had power back.
As did all fifty buildings on the entire street...

Sorry you did get some damage.
It’s good there was not a lot of rain or I think we would have lost a lot more trees. The wind looks like it damaged some evergreens. They look brown from wind burn. I really hope they recover.

Nice, you talked to them personally and not have to deal with O/R ignoring the situation. LIPA failed here big time, they were were so unprepared. Management is in for some trouble, hopefully.

I want to move to a red state ;)
