Not that too many people care, but I am now at a friends using her computer. We lost EVERYTHING Monday @ 3;30 pm. My friend Caren and her lovely husband were the smart ones who learned from that last storm to get a generatorm
My area looks like a warzone, just as I'm sure eveyone else's does. Trees uprooted, wires down (I keep ducking, don't know why).
We were outside yesterday w/ the chainsaw (we were trapped in from the downed trees). Once we removed ours, we went to our neighbors to clear their trees and our street.
This is my first contact w/ the outside world...sorry if I sound dramatic but at least I am not crying anymore. Just hope my fellow FReepers are okay and hanging in there.
Looks like we won't have anything for a couple to a few weeks.
Prayers needed please. There are wires down all over the place....Lord help us when the lines are turned on.
God Speed and God Bless!!
I'm on the North Shore of Long Island, Suffolk County. It really really sucks here.
Good news to hear!
God bless and may those electricians be there fixing your power in a flash....
we are praying and sending good thoughts....
Glad everyone is okay, that’s the important part. Just remember, it could be December. Been there done that.
Good luck!
It’s all just stuff, most of which can be replaced. The important thing is you’re safe and with friends.
Best of luck to you.
I can’t say it any better than everyone else already has. G-d be with you and everyone who has suffered from this disaster. Thank G-d you and your family are alive and well. Prayers for you and yours. This too shall pass.
Of course we care, dear.
((hugs))
Prayers up for you and family.
I don't know what else to say other than don't get ripped off by stranger contractors going door to door. They will try to get a deposit from you to put you on their work list for repairs and then leave town with your money. You give them small payments as they show up for work.
If you have any questions, or just need a shoulder to cry on, I might be able to help you. Freepmail me if I can help. I put you on my prayer list. God bless you.
Prayers up for you and your family.
Glad you’re okay and I am happy to see that I am not the only conservative left in New York!
Good to hear you survived and are able to give an update. Prayers for you and yours.
Wellll, I have hit post 4 times now, maybe the 5th time will make it.
i care and glad you are safe.
Quite a difference, isn’t there?
If anyone is using the phrase “We lost EVERYTHING” to mean their iPhone doesn’t work, well...I won’t say anything uncharitable.
Hope the worse interpretation is not the correct one.
but at least I am not crying anymore.
This is not a joke. Something like this can throw anyone into a depression. Do not retreat from people. Be positive and support your neighbors. This is good for them AND for you.
Don't be afraid to get professional help if you need it. There's nothing wrong with that.
Glad, at least, that you are safe.
Do not take chances and stay away from the power lines.
God Bless.
Glad to hear that you are okay. Paradox is right, it will start to get better in a couple of weeks. Right now you are still in shock, it feels surreal. This first step of getting back in contact with your Freeper friends will provide you with more emotional support than you know. Prayers for you and your family.
Good luck!! I hope everything is cleaned up ASAP
BTW- Were you “prepping”? Did you have food and stuff stockpiled for an emergency?
You'll be happy to know that while you feared for your life, plenty of FReepers stormed these threads to wish you well and pray for your safet . . . no, they actually posted to let you know that your situation is exaggerated, that it was mostly made up by the MSM as a bunch of media hype, that you are a northeastern sissy whiner and that you are stupid for deciding to live on the North Shore in the first place, because only an idiot would live near an ocean.
A lot of really Christian, intelligent, perceptive and wise comments in general made by some very sharp and very brave people.
Thank you everyone SO much for your prayers. I thank God I have my friends here and my FRiends here.
I’m a little more comfy now, being in touch with the rest of the world. In a little while, I’ll be back in heck.
Thank you thank you thank you. I am very comforted by all of you, as usual, when I have a problem.
Prayers for safety and recovery..Prayers for all affected by this terrible storm.
