FRANKENSTORM: Are You Ready for the Mutant Storm of the Century?
The Daily SHeeple ^ | 10/26/12 | Kimberly Paxton

Posted on 10/26/2012 6:58:07 PM PDT by Kartographer

Hurricane Sandy will be assaulting the East Coast, morphing into a mutation of a blizzard and a hurricane, the likes of which meteorologists claim has not been seen for more than 100 years.

Government forecasters have predicted a 90 percent chance for 4 days’ worth of gale-force winds, heavy rain, flooding and maybe snow beginning on Sunday.

Traveling from the Bahamas, the storm has taken the lives of 29 people in the Caribbean at current count. The storm is traveling up the Eastern seaboard where it is predicted to collide with a seasonal nor’easter. At that point, the fury of the blizzard and the hurricane will combine before striking the highly populated areas of Washington, DC and New York City.

The storm hit Florida early Friday morning and is traveling up the coast at approximately 10 miles per hour. Forecasters say that this slow journey increases the risk of flooding, as it will strike multiple high tide cycles. Schools in the southernmost part of Florida have been closed for the remainder of the week.

Matches are great to have, at least until they get wet. A dozen Aim N Flame lighters are even better.

I’m sorry for all of those who are impacted by the storm.

The msm and Obama rejoice.

I like Mark Levin’s comment that when he is in a storm, he makes sure that he has all the food groups stored : cookies, pretzels, Mars Bars, etc., etc.

I’ve got a box of Snickers bars in our stash. They are packed full of quick energy and a decent shot of protein as well. Don’t believe me? Check the label on one sometime. They are probably the most nutritous “candy” you can buy.

And in a SHTF situation the chocolate can’t hurt. At least that’s what Mrs. L says.

You tell my friends who are getting ready to bug out from where they live it is all BS -— they’ve already got water coming up and we’ve only had 30pmh sustained winds.

I’m sure you said the same things about NOAA when storms were heading in your direction, weren’t you?

BTW - my friends at NOAA here in Virginia are all staunch conservatives and I’ll believe what they tell me long before I’ll believe the nonsense you have been spouting on this thread.

You trust NOAA, Obaman’s government agency that says this is a huge threat. you trust the media that say this is the storm of the century. No i lived through a real storm in New Orleans, katrina. I'll see you here after the election after we see what a hoax this was.katrina was a huge storm and they are talking like this is comparable to that ridiculous.

flooding from katrina over 20 feet of standing water in large areas of new olreans and LA:

It’s not the sprawling size of a storm that detemines surge, it’s the tightly spiralling storms with a very well defined eye that have an impressive surge, due to the intensity of the low barometric pressure. The storm sort of sucks up a dome of seawater. A big, sprawling, loosly organized storm like this can pose its problems, beach erosion and flooding chiefly among them, but storm surge isn’t that big of an issue.

If it meets up with sufficiently cold air in clashing with that other system, impressive snowfall is a possibility in some areas. Imressive measured in feet. Won’t lay long, ground’s not yet frozen. Rapid melt can mean flooding, too. High winds, saturated soil and snow load on branches can mean heavy tree damage.

Those would be the concerns.

I’ve already told you that I don’t trust the media, because they love disasters.

Have a nice night.

A few dozen dead bodies and a few billion $ in damage will make you feel pretty foolish.

And if you've been around here more than fifteen minutes, you'll know this ol'boy ain't no f'n troll.

The media and government are saying this will be the storm of the century and it isn't but you lie for the media and obama to help get bengazi gate off of the news

Why don’t we just rename this storm ‘Hurricane Benghazi’ to cover all the bases? The media would go absolutely nuts...

If you're not already drunk, you should consider it.

stalking. . . LOL

On second thought, alcohol and lunacy don't usually work out so well.

Have a lovely non-hurricane !   :-)

I don’t see spamming. This is barely a cat 1 and has no chance of growing. The point is to take bambi off the front page. I am sorry up front for idiots that live on the coast that thinks a near sub-tropical storm is indicative of end times.

Storm is going to blow off to sea anyway.

Utility companies in New England are calling customers IN ADVANCE to warn them about potential power outages. They have NEVER done that before...never before an ice storm; never before a blizzard...not even before Irene last year. Hmmm...
