If you only listen to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh you believe Romney is winning. He's not, he's losing. Both Real Clear Politics and Intrade have Obama with 281 electoral votes with 11 days til the election. You only need 270 to win. Intrade predicted every state correctly in 2004 and had two states reversed in 2008.
Move your cursor over each state "click here" to see the candidates chance of winning. Notice Virginia has moved back toward Obama and has more chance of going for Obama than Ohio does of going for Romney. There have been a lot of one-off polls showing Pennsylvania and Michigan in play, however Intrade shows otherwise. Colorado is a toss up and currently leans Obama. Iowa and New Hampshire are trending Obama, while Wisconsin and Nevada are currently dark blue.
This is a far different picture from the one being painted by Sean Hannity, Dick Morris and Karl Rove. So then why is Romney pulling his punches on Benghazi? It's becoming clearer every day Obama refused to send in a rescue mission because he's haunted by the Jimmy Carter failed rescue attempt back in 1980.
I believe the Benghazi scandal has the potential of becoming one of the biggest in U.S. history. So again, why is Romney sitting with his arms folded? Because he's just as risk averse as Obama. He's terrified the media will again accuse him of politicizing the death of these four men. What, and Obama is not playing politics by withholding virtually all information, for nearly two months, until after the election?
Forget about the politics for a moment, only Romney has a megaphone large enough to force the media to get off their butts. The families deserve the truth and the American people deserve the truth. Once the truth comes out, the political consequences for Obama will be well deserved. If people knew Obama did nothing for seven hours while four of our men were being murdered, the election would be over. The problem is most people don't know. Now imagine how you'll feel on Nov. 7th if Romney loses because he played it safe by letting Obama off the hook on Benghazi.
LOL...finally a true picture of a ZOT
I remember this guy now. On Oct 3rd.
I thought my response was funny.....to me...LOL
He is pretty cantacorous...
I don’t think he’s here for the long haul and his point of peak for being an influence is ersatz....uhm....o so late.
Kitties will paw at him...
Except, of course, for THIS election, in which one debate sharply altered the course of the election.
Have to completely disagree. The debate had nothing to do with it. Incumbents lose when the economy is this bad etc. Romney was going to win, even if he went down in flames in that debate.
How will he allow conservatives save the country? Starting November 7th he won't be fighting Democrats, he will nuking conservatives of the face of the earth.
You don’t have the capacity to make me sad. I see through you, Troll.
LOL! Brilliant! :)
I almost responded with a solid counterargument.
Then I remembered: Yer a damned troll. There ain't no point.
Ta.
This one I *will* respond to.
What is a Troll on Free Republic?
One factor is this: A Troll tends to be a real jerk to others on the forum who have been vetted by years of participation. Trolls don't like Freepers, and it bleeds through in their responses, no matter how they might try (or, sometimes, not) to conceal it.
Other than that? Timing is key, I suppose.
During the primary, when other options exist that seem more conservative, a Troll is someone who pushes Mitt Romney, who didn't seem as conservative.
But LATER, when the selection is made, and when Mitt Romney goes on to satisfactorily address his more-left behavior in Massachusetts ; performs very admirably to our Free Republic eyes in the debates (without embracing liberal Republican ideology); AND THEN EVEN BRINGS UP THE 10TH AMENDMENT IN THAT DEBATE -- which NO major Presidential candidate has done before, to my memory ....
....THEN, a Troll is someone who, less than two weeks out from the election, consistently denigrates Romney -- thus rendering aid and comfort to an outright Marxist Obama, comes up with every reason why he won't win (counter to all available evidence), and otherwise tries to depress the conservative vote.
You know, kinda like you are doing.
No, strike that: EXACTLY like you are doing.
Dude, you know I love ya. But things change. I'd still have supported Gingrich, but the RNC brain trust in DC turned out to be correct, Gingrich is reviled by too many (ignorant) people. It bears similarity to why Hillary Clinton cannot seem to get traction over the years, although in her case, the people who revile her are enlightened.
YET: It's true, that what gets you banned in one period of time, won't get you banned in another. Peoples' -- and the forum's -- views evolve, when confronted by the realities of the situation.
Trolls will always fight against the goals of the site, even if the goals -- by necessity -- must change. I suppose a good way to accomodate this, for those that are not trolls, is to be aware of the position of the site (and the position 'paper' should be updated and publicized as time changes).
And if you disagree with those positions, no worries... just don't troll, and you'll be fine. There's ways of phrasing things so you don't piss people off, especially The Powers That Be! I've done it any number of times, when my position was different than Jim Robinson's.
So Romney is the Republican candidate, and Romney has surprised me more than once, positively. I can assure you he will not be a perfect conservative -- hell, I'm not sure *I* can be -- but I do have the impression, from the indicators I outlined, that he will be better than I initially felt.
Don't be so quick to thank me. I remain convinced you are a troll. I'm referring only to Longbow1969 in my above message.
It is customary to ping someone whose name you mention in a post.
You're not very familiar with this forum or the FReepers here, are you.
One example.
Romney has promised to repeal Obamacare. Do I believe him? Not really. But if we win the senate and keep the house, it will be the first vote. Because it was ruled a tax, it can be repealed by a majority not 60 votes.
If the congress passes the repeal, what are the chances of a Veto? I would say less than 50/50.
As Don Rumsfeld pointed out: you go to war with the army you have. Mitt’s the General and may lead us to slaughter, but isn’t it better than desertion?
“It is customary to ping someone whose name you mention in a post.
You’re not very familiar with this forum or the FReepers here, are you.”
Guilty as charged. I am willing to turn myself in. Just tell me where to report.
“Now LONGBOW, on the other hand... to me, he doesnt seem like a troll. Real misguided, but... that aint no crime
Don’t be so quick to thank me. I remain convinced you are a troll. I’m referring only to Longbow1969 in my above message”
No you’re not. You said: to me, he doesnt seem like a troll. Real misguided, but... that aint no crime
So you’re admitting I’m not a dreaded troll just misguided, you also admitted being misguided is not a crime. Whereas being a troll and not sending a ping to someone you mention in a post are heinous crimes.
I think deep down you even like me better than Longbow.
“One factor is this: A Troll tends to be a real jerk to others on the forum who have been vetted by years of participation. Trolls don’t like Freepers, and it bleeds through in their responses, no matter how they might try (or, sometimes, not) to conceal it”
Please accept my heartfelt apology for being a real jerk. I now realize that as an accused troll and a plebe here on FR it’s my responsibility to conform to the wishes and group think of the upper class Freepers. Again, it’s hard for me to put into words just how sorry I am.
....THEN, a Troll is someone who, less than two weeks out from the election, consistently denigrates Romney — thus rendering aid and comfort to an outright Marxist Obama, comes up with every reason why he won’t win (counter to all available evidence), and otherwise tries to depress the conservative vote.
So when I pointed out that Real Clear Politics and Intrade both have Obama with 281 electoral votes - that’s denigrating Romney. When I later point out in a subsequent post that Real Clear Politics just moved Colorado into Obama’s column giving him 290 EC votes - that was denigrating Romney as well. When I implore Romney to go on the attack over Benghazi and stop playing it safe - once again, denigrating Romney.
I am now willing to change my Marxist ways by chanting U-S-A U-S-A for a half hour everyday until Nov. 6th. To show just how sincere I am, I will also commit to chant sí se puede for 10 minute per day to help with the hispanic vote.
“I almost responded with a solid counterargument.
Then I remembered: Yer a damned troll. There ain’t no point.
Ta.”
Thank you for holding back with the solid counterargument. The standard ‘Yer a damned troll’ counterargument is devastating enough.
Oh, I hope to God you are right, Johnnie,
We’re doomed if Dear Leader gets another four years.
I would also dearly love to see those guys’ reps come crashing to the ground!
