There is one thing I noticed about the Romney Yard signs in my Neighborhood.
They look like someone took an Obama Yard Sign and then plastered a "Romney Ryan" sign over the top of them...
As if it is a subliminal suggestion that, "yeah I used to support Obama in '08, but now I am sick of him and now support Romney"
Obama Sign:
It is as if they intentionally chose the white border and blue border and then put another white box inside it that says Romney/Ryan..
At long last, I finally started seeing a proliferation of Romney signs in my neighborhood. About 12 Romney signs to only one Obama sign. But what I found intriguing is that the largest concentration of Romney signs was in yards surrounding the sole Obama sign. The Obama sign appeared first, well over a month ago. But today, I looked, and there are Romney signs in virtually all the surrounding yards... four adjacent yards, and two or three across the street.
Nowhere else is there such a stark concentration. It’s like the residents were so aghast at having an Obama supporter in their midst, they went all-out putting up Romney signs. At least that’s the (amusing) way it struck me! Personally, I haven’t put up any sign, as I never do, and considering Romney is pretty clearly my least-favorite GOP nominee of the past thirty years, I hardly hardly felt an inclination this time to alter my longstanding trend.
LOL! That's also happening down the street from me!
Campaign signs are almost exclusively combinations of red/white/blue .. add in the need for visibility at distance and the design possibilities become somewhat constrained.
Personally, I think the R/R signs are quite compelling .. tastefully understated, yet quite effectively bold in their simplicity.
We have lots of Romney/Ryan signs around here, too. I have to chuckle, because I would estimate than more than half of them have an empty chair sitting by them.
I think the designer of the R/R signs is a genius!
1) The red/white/blue R/R looks like ribbons... for winners!
2) The R’s enveloping each other stands for Romney and Ryan yet is just one giant R that suggests unity
3) RR reminds us of one of our greatest presidents...Ronald Reagan.
Great job!
I’ve noticed that signs of both persuasions are conspicuously absent this year. The signs for local and statewide races are plastered everywhere, like cigarette butts at stoplights.
I know why I haven’t placed a Romney sticker on any of my vehicles and why I’ve refrained from placing a yard sign in my yard. I wonder if it is a prevailing way of thought for Conservatives this year? I have a scrolling LED sign on the interstate in front of my business and plan on putting up a Romney / Ryan message on the 5th and 6th. Other than that, I don’t want to need to teach any jackbooted thugs about the power of the 2nd amendment should they decide to infringe upon my property rights.
The most recent state polls came out this morning and Romney is up by more than 20 in AR. I had to laugh - I actually saw these poll results on DU (I go there for opposition research and a good laugh each day). One of the posters there was ridiculing the intelligence of southern voters, particularly AR. They stated, and I quote, the reason the south votes R is summed up in three words: Lack of education. Ironically, that particular poster’s avatar was................a photo of Bill Clinton. Face palm!
Lots of Romney signs here in my area of Broward county FL.
Surprising too, since this is such a heavily d-rat place.
One Øbama sign on my block. And in 2010, she had a sign for every leftie cause on the ballot. All were defeated. A good omen?
Don’t order psilocybin mushrooms for your pizza any more........
I thought that too, just this morning.
I think its a hint that Romney in practice won’t be much different from Obama.
Never was a big fan of Romney, but that is exactly why my neighbors and I put up our Romney signs.
Here in Palm Beach County, I am amazed that several of my neighbors are proudly displaying Romney/Ryan signs — it was so “Obama” 4 years ago. This has given me courage to do the same - just got my sign today. However, I am saving it until Sandy passes...it is getting mighty gusty out there.
I just noticed something about The Romney sign in my front yard.
It’s missing...!!!!!!!!
I’m glad you put up the picture of the Obama yard sign. I didn’t know what it looked like. I’ve literally not seen a single Obama sign in anybody’s yard this election cycle. None. There aren’t too many Romney signs around where I live either, but at least there are a few. I was in Tampa recently, though, and saw many Romney signs in the areas I went through.
