Unfortunately, Akin made this prospect much more difficult, but we can hope.

Plan B if Reid keeps the Senate:

Romney appoints a HHS Secretary. Secretary rescinds all rules made by Sebelius implementing 0bamacare. Secretary goes on 4 year fishing trip so no more rules are written...

Note to 0bama: Ain’t payback a bitch?

The GOP candidates also have to want to win.

There are always enough RINO’s to give the Dems a majority on certain votes

I agree. We must win the Senate.

In 2006 when Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi took control of Congress it was then that the economy really took its dive. And they made sure Bush owned the recession.

We cannot have ObamaCare and a recovery too.

If there is no recovery, Romney will own the economy just like Bush owned it despite the fact that the recession was caused by the democrats.

A lot of people are out of work.

Merely taking the Senate won’t work, unless by a filibuster-proof majority, and that’s not happening.

Tell me how CommieCare is going to be repealed without 60 Senate votes. (Well, maybe they can “deem” it repealed - it worked for the DementedCrats.)

First, Romney needs to Win without Chads or anything else ...
There can’t be recounts or other distractions

For the life of me ... I just can’t see that even happening

never know, never underestimate the stupidity of Voters ... we damn near had Algore (we did git Hussain once, pray that we don’t get him twice)

Chill, for 3 reasons.

1. We would be filibustered as long as we have fewer than 60 votes. Juan McCain will see to that the nuclear option won’t exist.

2. Obama has shown Romney that the President’s will can be rammed through executive orders and selective enforcement. One good thing about Romney is that if he wants something done, he has no hesitation to use the tools in his shed.

3. To my understanding, the Senate still has to approve the spending. It’s not like the Democrat financing agenda is the default. So no matter what, whatever we get our taxpayer money spent on is still going to be held to whichever party has the most willpower in a non-supermajority Senate.

Winning the Senate is indeed very important.

But having Romney put one or two new conservatives on the Supreme Court is the way to get rid of ZeroCare.

If the Senate remains in Dem hands after the election it is probable that Reid will block all nominations to the court. But, if there are vacancies on the court then the math changes and we might be able to kill ZeroCare with the same votes against it we had last time around. If a couple of Dem justices are gone then we could squeak by even in the face of Justice Robert's idiocy.

The best argument to take to the court is the fact that if the ZeroCare penalties are a tax then the bill originated in the wrong chamber.

What a disappointment this weak fool turned out to be :-(

Totally agree. Do what you can folks to make it a 51 Republican senate majority when the smoke clears. We could get up to 53, so back your local guy/gal and others if you can.

Real Clear Politics Senate Map, current Projections, Battle for the Senate.

We need 50 at least with Ryan the tie-breaker. 51 would be fantastic, and anything higher would be a landslide. Let's make it happen folks!

If this goes down badly, and we fail to get the Senate back, I will personally go to those in my community who got squishy this November and say, "Well, was it worth it? Obamacare has wrecked the health industry, your doctor left, your company dropped you off their insurance rolls, your premiums are skyrocketing, you can only get part-time work with no benefits, you can't afford you State exchange plan, your "fine" for not having insurance is going up, and Grandpa can't get his hip replacement....but look on the bright side, at least you have your "PRIDE" and "PRINCIPLES"!!!

Amen to that. Obamacare will destroy free market capitalism in America. Isn't that what Obama wants? Fight for your Senator folks. No Republicahn Senate, no Repeal of Obamacare! As important as the WH!

We had a chance at one time, but Todd Akin and now IN`s Richard Mourdock, with their boneheaded, ill-thought responses on rape, have all but snuffed out that hope.

The more realistic hope is defunding parts of 0bamacare over the coming years and shrinking it down.

I fully understand. Harry Reid and crowd is a nightmare. He and Pelosi have been wrecking balls. - Obamacare and his “death panels” are a nightmare. My husband has recently had major (expensive) surgery; with pre-existing conditions. I’m trying to use the medical establishment as little as possible. The idea of being crossed off the list and relegated to the status of “useless eaters” is not fun contemplation - especially when we’ve been law abiding, tax paying citizens all our lives (and still continue to work at 69 and 66).
