I was part of a security detail in Iraq when the first SOFA, under Bush, was put together, being tasked with driving Crocker and McGirk around to the different Iraqi ministries to sort out the details. McGirk played a large part in that, as is widely known.

McGirk was then tasked by the current administration to RE-negotiate the terms of the original SOFA and was brought back in, to help out and help Uncle Joe.

McGirk was also put up to become the ambassador to Iraq, but that failed as soon as some of his late night escapades became public.

So, YES, Mr President. You did try and renegotiate the SOFA w/ the Iraqi's. They however, told you and Uncle Joe to pound sand and not worry about it.
