This is very disappointing to me, but I am not surprised. Gladiator is one of my favorite movies of all time. Aside from all the great action sequences in that movie, the main themes of that movie are Maximus’ love of family and his desire to save Rome and return it to a republican form of government.

I saw another tweet from Crowe favorable to Obama about a month ago. So, this isn’t the first time I felt disappointment in him. But, I learned a long time ago, that “moonbattery” is endemic to the actor and musician world. I try to enjoy them as entertainers and forget their uninformed ramblings. If their ramblings are too offensive, I can always choose not patronize any of their movies or listen to any of their music.

The actor's dilemma:

I am beloved for the characters I portray, but those characters are not me. I may add to their sum total by my craft, but the characters remain the product of others. In my secret heart I know that I do not measure up to that image in real life, so I am desperate for your love and attention as myself, not the on-screen personae that make up the body of my work. (ref: Sally Fields). To earn your love and admiration, I must adopt causes and beliefs that I feel will endear me to you, the public. Liberalism is my choice since I am emoting and because it requires so little thought. As a bonus, no one will hold me to the outcomes but instead marvel at my "wisdom" in spouting what ends up being, yet again, someone else's lines. How ironic! and so destined to fail.

What does an actor do when they’ve put on 60 lbs, are no longer eye candy and on the downside of their career? We’ve seen it a thousand times - they become an outspoken lib agitator.

A few years ago Richard Dreyfuss on Michael Medved show.. "Make them stop Michael. Make them stop."

Dreyfess of course trashed conservatives and when callers objected with questions for Dreyfess.. well that's more than someone who knows only like-minded people can take.

Just starting taxing entertainment revenue at a premium rate, and put a cap on what actors and people like Oprah can earn - all for the good of society - and you will see a rapid shift in what the hypocrites in Hollywood support.

A short history lesson about the acting profession. Way back in the olden days, acting troupes traveled around the country from town to town putting on their plays.

The troupes usually did it all - building their own sets, costumes and, sometimes, writing their own plays. They also had other skills. Most of these troupes stayed in a town for only a day or two before they moved on. This made membership in these acting troupes particularly attractive to drunks, thieves, robbers and murderers.

It is no accident that many law enforcement agencies still refer to crime perpetrators as “actors”. This is their beginning and their legacy.

Today, we have magazines and TV networks dedicated to every 24 hours of these self-absorbed, vacuous people whose only abilities are being pretty and being able to say things other people have written for them.

If monkeys could talk, there’d be no need for actors and Hollyweird could go back to being a glitzy wide spot on the road.

This is a mentally unstable individual who needs to be kept under close observation. Perhaps banned substances are contributing to these mystical hallucinations.
