You are more than welcome to vote for the Ruling Class Democrat running at the top of the GOP ticket and feel like you saved the nation with your vote. I won’t be joining you. This has to stop somewhere. At least it’s going to stop with me.

We’ve been following your prescription nearly to the letter for over 20 years and 5 election cycles. We continue to devolve Left - where today we have a choice between a Democrat Socialist in Romney and an America-Hating Marxist in Obama whereby tomorrow, on our present course it will end up between A NeroHitler and a StalinMao - and I venture to say the same argument you made for the ‘lesser’ of evils will be shouted and demanded again.

I won’t do it any longer. I’ve learned we are going to be judged on what we have done with the little things, even something seemingly innocuous as voting. A little leaven, leavens the whole lump - as the Apostle Paul warned, and I will maintain my principles and refuse to leaven them in a choice for a man with a record anathema to biblical and Christian principles.

One never wins hearts and minds by compromising core values and principles with those that disdain and even hate them - which is what you and others like you advocate. The world sees it as weakness to exploit and the rest see it as having no value in itself worth following.

I believe we are near or have arrived at the place where a majority of people in America no longer share or believe in the principles that forged and established us - and while it might seem prudent to compromise with their new vision for America - I won’t be contributing to the fatality that will ensue even if I’m the only person in the country that refuses to walk in lock-step. If that is deemed a waste of time by the enlightened among us - then we no longer share the same priorities in this life.

If my own position sears the conscience of others, then that is of God - but to frame that as an advocation of a State Belief System is doing what the Left does to anyone who stands on principles and faith.

"Romney will without reservation repeal OdumbaCare! Now he likes the idea of keeping the policy of covering pre-existing conditions, and likes the idea of extending to age 26 staying on the parent(s) health insurance. Who knows what else and how much he will pivot on and decide to keep."

(From Barnhard.biz)
"1. First, a FANTASTIC piece from Market-Ticker.org wherein KD speaks the truth in no uncertain terms about insurance and this total, complete bee-ess about forcing insurance companies to sell policies to people with pre-existing conditions. This is just sublime:

If you have a "pre-existing" condition then you're not buying insurance.

Remember what insurance actually is: A small payment made to someone in order to obtain pooled risk against an unlikely but catastrophic event that one either cannot or chooses not to reserve against on one's own.

By its very nature insurance is a negative-sum game. That is, if you take all the bad outcomes that happen across the insured population and sum their costs, the cost of the insurance purchased by that population must exceed the sum of the costs. It cannot be otherwise or the insurance company will cease to exist as it will make continual losses and eventually run out of capital.

As such if the catastrophic event already happened you're not negotiating for "insurance"; you are now trying to lay off the cost of mitigating the damage that has already occurred on someone else ex-post-facto.

The common word for that attempted act is theft.
"

Voting for personal benefit from the government (from the taxpayers). If this attitude is that of most U.S. citizens, the U.S.A. is gone.

If the True Conservatives cannot sway the majority here, on FR, how much chance do they have out there in the big wide real world? It simply won’t happen, so it is a waste of time to continually rant hatefully against anyone who doesn’t meet a rigidly held list of requirements.

But, we CAN!

It is merely not happening FAST enough for some; so they give up!

Yes, we can?

Please supply some evidence. Years of trying without success indicates not slowness, but impossibility. It isn’t *giving up* due to some sort of impatience, it is observing, analyzing results and making a conclusion about reality.

Every day, those of who grew up in a different era, a different country, with different values from those prevalent today die or become incapacitated and two more leftwing inculcated voters either come of age or otherwise enter the electorate to replace them.

Some of us grow up. Some of us change. I’m one of those, as my handle suggests. However, of those I once counted as friends, all but one have simply hardened their PC, Democrat, leftward stance over the past 30 years. I chose different friends.

Doing the same thing over and over, despite negative results equals.....you know the answer.

We lost the culture war due to intransigence and incrementalism. We will only regain it by an incrementalism of our own and that means we pick our battles, for now. Getting rid of the Marxists is the main order of business for this election. Hatred and nasty rants among ourselves against the only challenger is not going to accomplish anything positive. It aids our opponents and fractures our own base.

Nope. He’s just not Obama. That’s all.
And hopefully his “turn around” work at Bain has prepared fro the big steaming pile he is inheriting from Obama.
