Just saw this poll on TV and have seen this elsewhere. Why are these numbers so lopsided and why shouldn't we be very worried?
Ohio: Romney vs. Obama Rasmussen Reports Obama 48, Romney 47 Obama +1 NBC/WSJ/Marist Obama 51, Romney 45 Obama +6 Gravis Marketing Obama 45, Romney 46 Romney +1
According to stats released, the early vote so far is about 3% of voters, not 18%. Second, that poll over sampled dems way above even 2008 levels. Third, even if it were true, it doesn’t matter when someone votes - if all of obamas voters vote early he would win 100% of the early vote, but then on Election Day it would be 100% romney. People will vote either way, it’s just a matter of when
Have two of them.
Move on 'wanabee'!!
I think most of the military vote has already been prevented. The Obamilitary made a point of not getting ballots to the troops in time.
I don’t believe it. Ballots are not canvased until Election Day.
1. It’s poll
2. It’s from NBC
3. It’s utter bulls#it
Need more?
what poll? how do they know who to ask if they voted early?? this is just so much drivel...why are you posting nonsense???
What those numbers tell us is that NBC got a bad sample, not that Romney has no chance.
Even the Obama campaign came out last week and said their numbers show them leading Ohio by “a couple of points”.
Since campaigns are notorious for inflating their numbers a bit when reporting them to the public, we can be sure that at worst, Ohio is a dead heat right now.
I am on record as saying Ohio is the state I am most concerned about, but I have ZERO concern about the results of this poll. In short, it is bogus.
Maybe most Republicans vote when they’re supposed to—on Election Day.
We may as well give up, all is lost.
Are the votes being counted locally or by the Spanish company?
I have a young 22 yr coworker who has 2 friends on active duty who say no one in their companynhas received any absentee ballots. When I was in the Army I had my mom in NY forward my absentee ballot that i had sent to my home address. I cast my first Presidential vote for Ronaldus Magnus in 84.
How can “early voting” be allowed?
The Dems can empty out the cemeteries on election day but still wont be enough.
My take: look at it this way in Ohio and nationally, for that matter: Romney has closed the gap to -1.7 points in Ohio, and from now to election day it will stay close. The skewed polls no longer serve their primary purpose, which is to make Republicans discouraged and stay away from the voting booth. To the degree that it looks like Obama will win (by winning the swing states), it makes the Dems complacent and not bother to show up. On the other hand, a small Romney lead would just energize the Dems to flock to the polls (although I think this will fail — most polls show that the Youth vote has fallen off, as has the Women’s vote, as far as enthusiasm measurement.)
