For about 25 years the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese has batted at the #4 slot on McDonald's menu. My boy and I hit the drive through tonight because Mom wasn't in the car..... we were both ready for two Super Size #4's and then my world had changed. The Double QP was in the #3 slot! When and why did this happen? You Nannies and Busybodies with dietary suggestions can move on. This chat is for people who like to eat where, what and when they want who are well schooled in the menu of a great American institution.
Like I said, enjoy. You may not be a snob. But you sure don’t know how to have a civil conversation on a forum.
Also, fatso, a little exercise wouldn’t kill you, ya know?

We have Five Guys as well, but I haven't tried it yet. In and Out has always been it, but I'll give Five Guys a shot.
I still have a warm spot for Bob's Big Boy. Whenever I get there I order a Big Boy Combo with extra Blue Cheese Dressing for the Fries, yummy.
My husband always gets a double quarter pounder with cheese. Well not always, but most of the time we go to McD’s. He still fits into his high school jeans, 6'1” 170 pounds. I munch on a salad and glare at him!
Ration=ratio
Maybe it moved up in popularity?
Ha! Julia Child didn’t like her fries limp!
No chain that I know of can make a great burger. I graduated from high school in 1956 and all through my school years burgers were 10¢ and were grilled in the grease along with the bun, mmnn mmnn mnn good.
There is a chain called Fat Burger that makes a pretty good burger, In&Out ehhh, so, so.
This thread is totally off time now, but I had to reply, because I totally agree about the Mc D.L.T.! The “hot stayed hot, and the cold stayed cold.” But the main thing was, it was scrumptious, velvety smooth beef and cheese and tomato, and the hard to describe flavor, 20 years or more later, I can still taste it, and want it again. Sad.
When I make burgers at home I like to fry the buns in the burger grease. Awesome good!
Not when it might make someone question their own choices. The gluttons on FR are loathe to have someone point out the bad side of gluttony.
“You need to try the Hardee’s Monster Thickburger.”
I love their Monster Biscuit for breakfast but I have them ADD country ham to it. (It comes with slice ham already)
Good with hash browns!
The entire food industry is being circled by sharks right now, looking for their first attack victim. It doesn't matter that salt use is not harmful to most people other than to sway people to overindulge.
Does anyone remember when they made the fries with animal fat and not vegetable oil? It was one of the best things on earth. I try not to eat McD anymore because it’s really unhealthy, but every now and then i have a BIG MACK ATTACK!
WHITE CASTLE IS AMAZING
ok... i see something for the next family cook-out
G&G Burgers run by a little old lady and her husband, where I grew up was awsome, sauteed onions in butter, buns were toasted and slathered with butter, burgers were 1/2 pound top of the line ground beef cooked in butter, sadly they never franchised and grew but that was the best burger joint I have ever eaten at. JMHO. Southside of Milwaukee Wisconsin is where I grew up.
