But, Obama is no Lincoln. He’s doesn’t even stack up to what Lincoln left in the outhouse.

The Obamadork cannot speak coherently without the aid of a telepromptor.

Hickenlooper cannot speak coherently no matter what the help.

Disregard all this idiot says. Heck, he even makes Biden seem intelligent.

Colorado’s Repulsican party is way beyond dead, and you can observe the results of an unfettered dim-bulb-crat party when HICK-en-looper opens his pie hole.

Actually Abe was one of the finest speakers of his time.

No teleprompter needed.

Yeah, I guess that’s why Lincoln’s debates have been largely forgotten and haven’t had any impact on high school forensic arts.

I guess the Lincoln Douglas debates were all hype?

” Lincoln and Douglas agreed to debate in seven of the nine Illinois Congressional Districts; the seven where Douglas had not already spoken. In each debate either Douglas or Lincoln would open with an hour address. The other would then speak for an hour and a half. The first then had 30 minutes of rebuttal. In the seven debates, Douglas, as the incumbent, was allowed to go first four times. “

Lincoln is by far the most written about person in
American history. There may be a historian or two
who makes the claim that Abe was not a great debater.
One thing that Lincoln definitely was not was a leader
who led from behind.

I guess the Governor came to that conclusion after seeing the debates on YouTube.

Lincoln determined the best thing for blacks was freedom from slavery...Obamugabe is determined to make men of ALL races enslaved to government.

So there is a huge difference between the two.

The reason those debates were relatively Earth-shattering around the US was due to a new innovation: the telegraph.

The entire debates (with a little bit of partisan editing) were published within days in all the major cities. For once, the public had a detailed, complex grasp of the great political issues of the day.

It also split the country down the middle. Suddenly that vast undecided majority knew which side they supported, and had arguments on behalf of their beliefs.

Truthfully, Lincoln did lose, as Douglas was elected senator. However, Lincoln had become a national celebrity and the voice of his political party. He lost the senate and won the presidency.

The debates achieved immortality when Lincoln himself compiled them in book form, which transcended the tenuous nature of newspaper reporting. As such, they have become a fundamental document of the republic.

Joe Biden will disagree and say Lincoln was a great debater. Joe Biden will have memories of hearing Lincoln speak.

...but President Lincoln DID end the Civi War in less time than the Kenyan pretender has been in office. And spent less doing it!

If not by doing well in the Lincoln-Douglas debates, how does Governor Hickenlooper think Abraham Lincoln won the presidency — by taking money from Tony Rezko and the teachers unions?
