One of the great advantages of where I live in the Philippines
is that I do not depend on supermarkets.
I live in the vegetable capital of Cebu, where fruits and veggies are in great abundance, as well as fish, pork, and chicken.
It is very hard to imagine a shortage of food, and being in a warm climate, I do not worry about heat in winter.
I also enjoy a wide range of environments. If I need to leave my beach, I can be on the highest mountain (3100 ft), only 10 km inland.
The problem with the Philippines is that it is a prime target for Chinese occupation.
