I commend it to you. Pay attention to the English subtitles to the Irish Gallic lyrics. It could well apply to our present situation and will become my theme song for the election season. Apologies to the Irish and the Scots (and the English as well), but we need your song for the moment and you'll forgive us for borrowing it.

Is that Scottish? What is the translation to the title?
Gaelic “Oro! You are welcome home”
The translation is Oro, Welcome Home (Irish Gallic), but the original tune and lyrics were Scottish. The lyrics in the Sinead O’Connor version are Irish. Right now its the Defeat Obama Song.
Sounds like a description of Obama’s America.
LOVE that song!!!
I’m with a Celtic band here in VA... we do that one when we do an Irish set. It’s a beautiful piece!
A much more powerful version of it is by Ronnie Drew of the Dubliners from a 1994 appearance on Ireland’s BiBi show. It’s out there on Youtube.
Here’s the link. It has a few slight jumps, but the rendition is powerful.

No doubt, I picked the O'Connor version because of the English subtitles, its just a song without the reference to tossing the foreigners (read: Obama Administration) out.
Got it! It’s very appropriate!!!!!
I think it may be Irish and not Scottish Gaelic.
The tune and original lyrics were Scots Gaelic. This version has lyrics in Irish Gaelic with references to the Irish Independence movement. Hard to find the original these days, but this version suits my political purpose.
