At Milkwood Farm we love both our rocket stove water heater and our mini rocket stove, but with winter taking hold Im dreaming of new ideas, so I thought Id review what else is out there.
DIY rocket stove technology is exploding world-wide at the moment heres a couple of the treasures Ive come across:

Could you use it to produce lye as an ingredient for soap?
What would be of immense help is a central Freeper repository of all documents related to survival, rather than each of us storing our own. We then have a single source for all of this rather than a dispersion of this valuable information. It is then downloadable for us all on a regular basis. This includes links and documents, webpages, etc.

Believe me, the feeling is mutual. Oh well. When your wife and kids are starving we shall see how much contempt and ridicule you can muster up. Hopefully you’ll get it all back in spades.
But I have a feeling you’ll be one of those who stomp your little feet off to the “authorities” and demand those “hoarders” be forced at the point of a gun to “share” with petty little men like you. It’ll be for the children....
Have a nice day.
Please stop feeding the troll.
That is based on your opinion - you evidently want to set yourself on a higher plane than those of us who want to protect/save our families IN CASE of disaster.
We are the happiest people on the planet, full of confidence we can survive and repair our great country if that becomes necessary.
My opinion is, you are pessimistic and contemptible and Un-American.
I’m through now with him.

My recently completed Rocket Stove. I now have the fuel chamber cover with damper in order to regulate the burn rate and temperature of charcoal briquettes. No picture of damper yet.

Talk about not getting it. I’d hand you a quarter and tell you to go buy a clue, but it would be a waste of a perfectly good quarter.
Who do you think had those heaters and food you needed? Who,had the extra fuel stored? Who had the gen sets that were the beacons of light and power for those weeks?
And where the hell do you get off calling us selfish? We are the ones preparing ourselves, our families, and our friends. We are the ones telling folks that they should take reasonable and prudent preparations in order to deal with just the types of long term disruptions you mentioned. We are the ones who are going to be able to say “ Thanks, but we are all good here. But there is this dipwad who calls himself Yardstick just down the road. We hear he’s in a world of hurt.”
We will be the ones who AREN’T stressing the supply chain so goods can and services can get through to the ape brains who weren’t ready. That’s about as unselfish an attitude as I can imagine. We are spending our own money, out of our own pockets, so we won’t be a burden on the first responders.
You have a mighty sick view of what constitutes selfishness.
I would say so, but there is so little ash I wouldn’t think it would be enough.
Very good work! I have gotten a hold of a 5 gallon metal pail as soon as I scrounge up a lid I am thinking of building one and then seeing if I can’t adapt a large clay flower pot to make a kind of oven.
You do great work!
Very nice craftsmanship!

Not a Troll he’s like I said a DHS pet RAT.
I honestly think that this guy will exactly be the type that I have written and should shtf he will be the type that will turn you in to punish you for your selfishness and hoarding.
I don’t hate him I really pity him and look on him and his type as just another of the serious obstacle that must be considered in a shtf situation. I also see his post as a learning moment for new preppers it’s had to imagine that there are people like Yardstick who call themselves conservatives it’s a good lesson for new preppers in the importance of OPSEC.
