Let's get it started in here.
The Romney team may not have thought of everything. What are some important things you think Mitt should get across?
I'll start. First off, we are in enemy territory with these moderators always. So Mitt needs to answer his own questions FIRST, and spend a few seconds at the end of his response to truly slap an answer down to the idiot question actually asked.
Mitt needs - NEEDS!- to get the word SOCIALIST or SOCIALISM in there. He doesn't need to call Obama one, but he needs to say something like "controlling and denigrating the means of production, punishing ingenuity and hard work, trying to be Santa Claus with other people's money -- that is SOCIALISM and every country that has gone that way has failed." He can also contrast capitalism where hard work and ingenuity is rewarded, where families and charities are responsible for voluntarily helping people in hard places, not government creating a class of people who stay dependent and don't achieve their potential. Um, say it better and more concise than I just did...
Stay away from the defensive. I am SURE Obama wants to get you, Romney, on the ropes, because you get visibly flustered and angry when hit with an accusation. Try not to respond to defend yourself, rather HIT HIM RIGHT BACK with a worse accusation. If you can, MAKE IT FUNNY. MAKE IT MOCKING. He will not be expected to be Alinsky'ed himself. " He sends you to the hospital, send him to the morgue." (Secret service, that is a movie quote and no threat meant against anyone.).
Example: Moderator: "Is it true, Governor, that you..." Mitt: "A far more pressing issue right now is .....[hit him hard, mockingly so] ... But in answer to your original question, I absolutely did do ... And here is why." Strongly and confidently.
Come on, brilliant freepers, add your advice here.
If Obama drones on about ‘the economy he inherited’, Romney should steal Rush’s line the other day and say...’well if you win re-election President Obama, the economy you inherit in 2014 will be twice as bad.’
LOL
In the nicest way possible, Mitt should ask (the sissy boy) Obama why he hands over the power in the White House to an Iranian woman!
Talk about these unelected czars who are not answerable to the electorate and who have huge salaries, staffs and perks. Romney could list the ones he will get rid of on day one, the dollar amount saved and the department that their duties can be rolled into: http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/29391/
Fact is Romney will not get the turnout at the polls that he needs unless he goes after Obama hard. Hit him with his own record and please for the love of God bring up his statement about “fundamentally transforming America” and get him to explain what he means by that. What is wrong with our fundamentals. Also Libya needs to be brought up and who is going to be held accountable for that failure. Heads should have rolled by now.
Bill Oreily and a group were debating this very same thing the other day on Fox.
At one point they all agreed that you cant disrespect Obama.
What I want to know is why the h*ll not??
What has he done to deserve respect?
Mr President. Gasoline prices have doubled even though North Dakota has more oil than Saudi Arabia. Why?
Mitt should also bring up the fact that the American people have been made to “support” this “family” of grifters with far more money than the Brits spend on the royal family when most families are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.
Is everyone so racist that they think a black president cannot be criticized? I know the mouthpiece media feels that way, but our side needs to drop the McCain maneuver.
I love your 1 and 3. Definitely get out there that Obama thinks the death of our ambassador is just a bump in the road. Mitt, let the audience know how much worse the president covering up a terror attack (Benghazi) is than watergate.
And spit out several of obamas promises in 08 that he has not done, and say that ghw bush lost an election just by saying read my lips! Look at what obama’s lips said in 08!

Yeah, I was going to say debate Obamas white side. Don’t be afraid of the media calling you racist. They’ll do that anyways.
That we can rebuild America BACK TO the great country she was so that our children and grandchildren can know what we mean we speak of her glory days. But said in a way to appeal to the hearts of young voters who dont know what the hell that means. Also, that we believe in them as Americans and we believe in THEIR love of country; that they are worthy of more than a free damn cell phone. That they are great enough to move mountains and overcome the struggles were facing as a nation, just as their grandparents, parents, etc., did, and in the right way - not accumulating more debt, etc. We are in need of some real encouragement at this point, particularly the young. Something to get our hearts back into America and our minds back on track after these 3+ years of disaster so that we can pick ourselves up off the ground, dust off, and get our country moving BACK in the right direction again.
Course Im no politician and dont speak gibberish, so the tweaking would need to be done.
Yeah, Obama will not be forced to answer that question. But if Obama answers it, he probably has an answer ready, something like “we are a capitalist country. But there are times when capitalism isn’t fair. Sometimes people through no fault of their own fall behind. We are a caring nation. Etc”
It’s almost better if he doesn’t answer. It’s actually better if Romney simply declares that such, such, and such Obama policies are basic socialism, which fails and hurts people it attempts to help, every time it’s tried.
“I suggest he watch Reagan debate(s). If Mitt can channel Ronaldus Magnus while slapping Bammy with facts about his lousy record, he could mop the floor w/Bam.”
I believe that that is exactly what Romney’s problem is. He is trying to emulate RR by being the “nice guy” but I don’t think that he can handle it. He is not RR and could never hope to be.
He needs to get down in the gutter and get dirty...figt fire with fire.
Which reminds me. Mitt might get a “war on women” question.
Mitt needs to skirt the stupid reproductive rights crap and keep stating that the economy is more important to women than to men. Women often are responsible for both children and. Elderly parents. Women need good jobs and a way to save for the future. Etc. women want their teens to be able to get productive jobs. To afford schools without going into serfdom debt to the government. Women are often dependent upon the small inheritances that Obama wants to tax away from them. Etc.
When the moderator attempts to shut you up, repeat again and again: Mr. Moderator, all American knows which side you support in this debate. After applause dies down, go back to kicking Obama.
Brilliante!

But your point is excellent. Take one question and build a mental image of Reagan’s shining city on a hill in people’s minds. Explain that a few simple tweaks in the economy and foreign-policy will have us as great as we ever were. But you actually have to believe in the American people and this president clearly does not.
Yes he should channel newts and attack the moderator every so often.
Excellent! great post.
