Wahlberg is actually one of the more believable modern-day leading men, by no small dint of the fact that he usually chooses roles where he plays a street-savvy, knuckle-dragging tough-guy punk.
I know it'll sound like sour grapes, but I have a hard time taking the "Hollywood Crowd" seriously. C'mon, who wants to spend their lives pretending to be someone else? You gotta have serious, deep-seated, unresolved self-dislike issues to be that driven to not be yourself.
That their talent and, eventually, value are measured by how "well" they express the actions, attitudes and feelings of someone they're notin most cases, someone completely fictitious, who does not even existborders on pitiable.
