CNBC is reporting that Steve Wozniak, who founded Apple with Steve Jobs in 1976, is seeking to become an Australian citizen. Wozniak, who is currently in Australia promoting the launch of the new iPhone 5, spoke with Australian media and expressed his love for the country, and for the Australian governments plans to launch its National Broadband Network (NBN). This lead many news outlets to incorrectly report that Wozniaks motivations for emigrating were purely because of the NBN.
Wozniak mentioned that he would keep his U.S. citizenship, but said, I intend to call myself an Australian and feel Australian. Unfortunately, Wozniak might find holding onto his U.S. citizenship a little more difficult when it comes time to applying for Australian citizenship. According to the U.S. Department of State, dual nationality is permitted by the country because of birth, marriage, or immigrants to the U.S. retaining the nationality of their country of origin. However, for a U.S. citizen to actively seek out foreign citizenship for any other reason is grounds for them losing their US citizenship.

True enough, when it's apparent that those "other countries" have now come here.
* They fled tyranny.*
Oh, please.
Typical vapid hero-worship.
Wozniak’s a LIB. So was Jobs.
To Hades with ‘em both.
Oh wait...Jobs is already thgere roasting.
Thank you for that, Senator Schumer.
Re your post #16, thanks for that correction. If the people who use the “could care less” expression gave five seconds of reflection on its logic, we would never see it again.
he should get citizenship from Monaco. Much better deal.
You seem to know the place like you belong there?
He's a flippin commie; nothing "American" about him.
“No problems there for Woz.”
Yeah, except whe he finds out he has to pay taxes in both places.
You can't. The only way to lose American citizenship is renounce it explicitly, or have it taken because you gained it through immigration fraud.
Simply taking out another citizenship, in and of itself, is not and cannot be grounds for depriving an American of his right to citizenship as granted by the Constitution.
“Yeah, except whe he finds out he has to pay taxes in both places.”
Not so. The USA and Australia have a tax treaty to avoid double taxation...

“They fled tyranny. Were not quite there yet.”
We’re past that point.
We are witnessing the destruction of our currency (under both parties)
We are witnessing out of control government spending (under both parties)
We are witnessing the relentless erosion of Constitutional rights, Destruction of Privacy, and a rising police state
Without security in our person and property, there isn’t liberty.
Wake up man.
Appleheads defending a very well known progressive hippie worth precisely according to Google sources in the neighborhood of 100,000,000 because folks like him who vote like him and put their money where he does have about destroyed our nation and our culture and not he wants to bail to another once great nation destroyed by leftists
