Whatever else you say about Akin, he has the right GOPe enemies, and the right conservative friends.
He can win this thing. Karl Rove and the GOPe are willing to cede the seat to a Democrat rather than not get their way.

Moderates are an infection that need to wiped out within the GOP. For all their holier than thou moralizing about compromise, they are the ones who are the true purists. If it weren't for conservatives compromising, the GOP wouldn't be neck deep in them.
They are nothing but lying, manipulative, bottom feeding, scum.

You forgot to mention Sarah Palin. She also wants him gone.
Hey, Sarah. You don’t speak for a lot of us. Many of us think for ourselves.

He can win this thing. I do not buy that a majority Missouri voters, who dislike obama, are going to cast a vote for Romney, or against obama and his policies, then turn around and not cast one against McCaskill. That's especially true, when the person running against her has a good Conservative record; tot he point of buckig the GOP at time in House votes.
The only way Akin loses is if the GOP loses Missouri to obama.
