After all the hoopla, the Apples iPhone debut on Friday more than lived up to expectations, with analysts estimating as many as 10 million sales by tomorrow and more than 130 million by the end of the year.. But there is a surprising quirk in the numbers. More than half of American mobile subscribers 55.5 percent are now owners of smartphones of all types, but for white people, the numbers make up just 45 percent, the lowest of any ethnic group, new findings from Nielsen show. Sixty-six percent of Asians, 56 percent of Hispanics and 55 percent of African-Americans use smartphones to check e-mail, play games and surf the Web.

I hereby propose a government program that helps to level the playing field by providing free smart phones to disadvantaged whites.

Falling behind?
I don’t have any interest in them nor do I have the disposable money for crap like that. (Besides, I’m apparently a “toothless hillbilly”)

Maybe it is because some groups are more susceptible to advertising hype. I am not sure how an overpriced electronic trinket would improve my life as compared to a more reasonably priced electronic trinket.

The smarter you are the less need you have for a smart phone.

I suspect it has to do with the comparative age of the demographic. Whites are an older group.

I wonder how they get this figure. No one asked my race when I got a phone. Good thing too.

Well, we don’t need them as much to coordinate flash mob looting sprees and racist attacks. I think the Obama free welfare phone comes with an app for that pre-installed.

I’m happy to see the CAUCASIANS being labeled as a “victim” for once. We’re always the bad guys and that was getting old. It’s good to be one of the “disenfranchised”. Especially when it comes to telephones. I can’t stand those things. I get off at five everyday to get away from of those things.

I don’t need, or want, a smart phone. I have an iPod touch, iPad, two notebooks, and a computer. Just give me a dumb phone built to Apple’s design sensibilities.

Could it be that some start with a free phone, service with texting and others have to pay for everything including the first groups service? It is a simple matter to upgrade from your free Obama phone.

I was always a skeptic about smart phones until I got one and realized how much of a "force multipler" it was for me, and also does wonders for compensating for an imperfect memory.
That doesn't mean, however, that advocate expensive cell phone PLANS - and that's where the bit costs are.

You will see that when you see Ms White USA Pageant on the All White Network. I hope taxpayers didn't fund this survey.
