Don't be fooled by the name: Skinny the cat is one hefty feline. And all 41 pounds of her needs a home.
A Dallas-area animal shelter has cared for the 5-year-old orange tabby since getting a call about a stray in a yard about a week ago.
Kim Chapin with Richardson Animal Services said Friday that Skinny's "very sweet" _ and the largest cat she's seen in 21 years with the shelter.
Not surprising. U.S. government growth charts show Skinny weighs about as much as the average 4-year-old child.
Chapin says Skinny appears healthy except for being overweight and likely having diabetes. Blood tests have been ordered.
Chapin says somebody apparently had been caring for the cat but officials aren't sure who owned the huge kitty.
Very chubby kitty ping...
Looks just like my neighbors 2 cats. HUGE things, but very sweet. She limits their food in take, feeds them diet cat food, and it makes not difference, weight wise.
Turn that thing into bio diesel.
We picked up a sad chihuahua last year, bit overweight, starved him for months trying to help him lose weight, he kept gaining. He has a host of health problems, including hypothyroidism and environmental allergies. Meds to help with those conditions increase his weight gain. 4 other dogs completely normal. Sometimes it is a health problem.
How about some nice fried kitty yum yums?
We’ve had more than a few cats over the years, but every last one of them left the peas behind (and licked clean) if there were peas in the cat food.
I love you, Daffy, but the living-mummy cats in saran wrap kind of gave me the creeps. I certainly hope that they were immediately released after the picture was taken. Since it was probably a found picture (?) on the Internet (?) I know it’s not your doing though.
good golly daffy, thats the funniest one i’v see in a while
bleh....

Every Lab we've had can gobble-up a whole bowl of food and if there's *one * pea in the bowl, they eat around it. Very funny stuff.
“Mega-magnus Feline Ping.”
Or call it the Mega-Maxi-Magna-Munchin’ Moggie ping!
What wise guy named that cat “Skinny”??
LOL! I don’t know why they put peas in pet food at all. Nobody likes them, but it is amusing to see those lonely little peas sitting there in a food bowl so clean you could put it back in the cupboard, if it weren’t for the peas.
“It were accident! Nomming too fast!”
LOL! Really, you made me LOL!
Sounds like Skinny needs the feline version of the Atkins diet...
