Glenn Miller mentioned his band’s new movie, “Orchestra Wives,” in the broadcast. It opens today in New York’s Roxy theater. Crowther will check in tomorrow with a review. I won’t give it all away, but I don’t think the Academy will be giving a lot of consideration to “Orchestra Wives” for Best Picture of 1942.
