I am an ultra-Conservative. But, everyone in the TEA Party is not. If I’m not mistaken, TEA is an acronym for Taxed Enough Already. Now, I don’t think Romney is for higher taxes. So, why can’t TEA Party people support him? Maybe I’m missing something here, so, please help me out and clarify your statement. Just for the record, Romney was not my first choice in the Primaries by a long shot.
Hey I am for Romney now, he is only option left. I hope Tea Party folks do support him NOW!, but come on, he was never a Tea Party guy, who are we trying to kid.
I pray Romney wins, but he is a terrible candidate, he is the first in some time, perhaps ever that has not tried to bring all branches of the party together.
Aside from giving us Ryan, he has not really tried to embrace the right. Everybody knows Romney is not a Social Conservative, he should have had Gov Palin at convention, and he should be on his knees asking Gov Palin to rally with Ryan etc around the country.
I thought the Tea Party WAS behind Romney? no?
“So, why cant TEA Party people support him?”
You’re right; they are a fiscal, not social, conservative group. I remember that a number of them were Dems when it started; issues like abortion/gay marriage weren’t discussed. I think a lot of social conservatives assumed that people that want “their country back” meant it on all topics, not just the fiscal issues.
