Sound ridiculous? Maybe as ridiculous as a 17 gigabyte camera sounded back in 1993.

Saw a similar photo taken in London. It zoomed 5 miles down the Themes River, past just about as many bridges. The most distant bridge you could easily make out minute details of carvings on the side of the bridge which were only a matter of a couple of inches (they were clear and only “very” mildly distorted).

It takes more than pixels. The lens must also have the resolution to discriminate at the pixel level.
