The original post was about "trends" but how can I not mention these non-trend covers. The Beatles butcher cover: And the dead members of Lynyrd Skynyrd standing in flames released just a couple of months before the plane crash that took their lives I have the original released vinyl LP of Street Survivors. IIRC right after the plane crash no further copies were made until the re-release of same album but different cover, then finally the original cover was re-released with the flames background.

I knew Mustaine was a conservative independent. I didn’t know Bruce Dickinson was conservative. I always figured he was like Motorhead’s Lemmy and hated all politicians and all isms.

The big joke in “local cover band” photos is the “old brick wall” meme. Seems like everyone did it.

H. R. Giger - Weird
I actually had a whole book of his stuff. Lots of aborted fetus stuff. Can't believe I used to like it.

Bruce Dickinson was flying people out of Lebanon a few years back when the muslims were going at it with the Israelis in Lebanon.

Hey, they got you to check out the album, didnt they?
1. I found out about the content from Casey Kasem.
2. In those days, the Top 30 record albums or so would be on display in the record section so they were visible without being picked up . . . a far cry from the cassettes, 8-tracks and later CDs. EVERY big box store had a record department. In my area these were Grant's, Barker's and Caldor's.
3. Real record stores had popular albums even more prominently displayed, except for the high-end well-stocked places, like the legendary Cutler's of New Haven, CT.

Was trying to find an interview with Emerson about the album cover - interesting tale of visiting Geiger’s home.
Instead - here’s a clip of them in the development stages of Karn Evil No. 9.

He flew some 200 British citizens who were trapped in Lebanon. He couldn't fly in but he arraigned for them to get to Cyprus where he flew them out in a 757 the band owned. (He's a pilot)

Thank you.
I did, and still do, like Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
(Okay, maybe not Love Beach, though I did buy a copy)
