Well... there is a Roanoke, Alabama, about an hour or so north of where I live...
However, my family lives in Botetourt County, Virginia, north of Roanoke, in a small community called Glen Wilton.
Frequently, jets fly over this area at a very low altitude. My mom and sister have told me they have heard the jets “practice” taking out the bridge over the James River, which is the ONLY way into that community unless you want to forge the river or hike the mountain.
That’s the best information I have to offer you...
My dad drove heavy equipment at the landfill (Texas), and he said the jets would “paint” them from time to time.
Thanks for that! Apparently this is the
first she’s heard/seen them. Daughter and family
are out shopping and the planes scared the baby.
I’ll let her know.
Just think how many jobs would be created if the jets actually bomb and took out the bridge. H’mmm, I better stop before I give bh0 an idea for a shovel ready job (filling in the bomb craters.)
Is Glen Wilton any where near Fincastle? My older sister and her husband retired there some years ago. Very pretty area, lots of interesting back roads to explore.
