USS Hammann was also part of the protective screen when USS Wasp was torpedoed by I-19. I believe one of I-19’s torpedoes passed right under her.

Page 5 may set a record for a bad set of headlines. A guy in Alabama had such good eyes that he saw a plane crash in Arizona. Then 6 killed, but the bodies of eight officers and two enlisted men recovered from wreck.
