It was only when Worf joined DS9 that the ratings spiked and became watchable.
The last season,especially the last half of it,was the very best Star Trek, bar none. A lot of the reason is Michael Dorn.
Are you kidding? DS9 got off to a rocky start but it had some really great episodes as early as the first season, and it really took off towards the end of the 2nd season. Their adding Worf was great but by that point the show was already awesome.
Worf has been a draw for the series.
I think it was that they realized a coherent long term storyline was a winner, because B5 was real competition.
