It wouldn't have been comfortable to the couple when the food server was "gawking" at them and "giggling" after looking at the computer monitor. -- neither would you or I like it if some Chinese waiter in China wrote "white devils at table 4, look funny" for other waiters to laugh at us while we are in the restaurant.
