Many years ago, my wife and I did wildlife rehabilitation of small mammals, specializing in skunks and other less-than-popular critters.

I crawled under a lot of porches to get 'em out and release 'em somewhere else. Raised up a lot of orphaned little ones.

Got sprayed a lot of times, couple of times in the face. There isn't anything like it.

I like skunks. Especially little ones. They're cute as hell.

But skunks don't belong in a city. And if they're rabid, that's a real dangerous problem. I sympathize with the folks in Pierre.

But if they're hot and dry, I sympathize with the skunks, too.

Just sayin'. :)

Have you seen the show on Animal Planet with the person featured in the first post? He grabs porcupines and snapping turtles but he detests skunks.
