I'm not much at helping juice stuff, so I especially loved this method. The kids think it's great and it hasn't even set for the required time yet.
Thought maybe someone else was agonizing over what to do with theirs.
I can’t help but notice that this isn’t a recipe for canning grape juice... it’s a recipe for canning grapes. I take it you leave the grapes as-is in the jars for storage, then pour the product through a strainer just prior to use?
Well, in my book it’s grape juice. It’s grapes, boiling water and sugar. We water bathed them and they sealed up great. Yes, when you open them, pour it through a strainer and drink.
We made ours on the strong side, so we fill a glass with ice and pour the grape juice over it.

I guess I don’t care what you call it..lol.
When my mom did it, she boiled the grapes, then ran the cooked grapes through a hand-crank food mill to separate the juice from the seeds, skins, and pulp. It was a lot of work.
Did the juice and made jelly and jam. It was a great year here for grapes. Fruit wise-(everything else froze out)
I remember that episode! IINM, they got into a grape-cluster-smooshing-in-the-face catfight, after Lucy splattered the Italian lady with some grapejuice. It was hilarious.
We LOVE that episode.
