CHARLOTTE, N.C. The young Texas mayor whose keynote speech wowed the Democratic National Convention crowd Wednesday night draws political inspiration from his mother who is a member of a radical civil rights movement and who reportedly thinks the truth behind the Battle of the Alamo is that Texans swiped Mexicos land.
Maria del Rosario Castro, the mother of San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, said in 2010 that she grew up being told the battle was glorious, only to learn the so-called heroes were really a bunch of drunks and crooks and slaveholding imperialists who conquered land that didnt belong to them.
But as a little girl I got the message -- we were losers, she told New York Times Magazine. I can truly say that I hate that place and everything it stands for.

“Arrogant La Raza freak get over it Mexicans have lost everytime they fight Americans.”
They didn’t lose that war to Americans; they lost it to the newly-independent Texas alone.
Mexicans shouldn’t feel like losers for that; after ll, they were a new country themselves. They should feel like losers because one in ten Mexicans now lives in the US.
So then, what does it say that around 150 “drunks and crooks” held out for 12-13 days against 1500+ of their ancestors?
What the hell happened to Texas? You let it turn into a third-world shit-hole full of leftists.
Maybe so....but Indians “owned” what is now the USA. Can’t exactly give it back.
No one “owns” a country, really....history has shown clearly that, right or wrong, countries belong to those strong enough to take ‘em and keep ‘em from others. Kinda sucks, but that’s the way it works.
No political or national will to “hold it” anymore. PC, immigration policy and guilt allowed this.
The major cities are mostly run by Dems, but the suburbs are under solid conservative rule. In the primary, my precinct voted 6 to 1 R. Ted Cruz had a solid majority. Dallas County was split equally between Cruz, Dewhurst, and Leppert (former Dallas mayor).
Well, my FRiend, take heart. Don’t let the PC media, Hollywood, and other libtards convince you that Americans don’t care about keeping our country. Simply not true. I believe that in November we’ll see evidence of this in spades.
