I think breakage is much more common with the Glocks than the 1911 pattern guns. And of course I’ve tried glocks, a lot, and I’ll never like them.
My 1911 is a Springfield “first off the line” back in the 80’s, when they were among the first to switch to old-style forged frames. Never had a hiccup. Never broke anything. For long periods of time, it’s eaten at least 500 rounds a week, 2000 if there was any events in there.
Boy is probably thinking about stamped-out frames, aluminium lightweights, and all that fancy cr*p.

I’m not sure why he has an issue with the grip safety. Is there a different way to hold your gun without the grip?
Who has an issue with the grip safety?
I sure don't. In fact, I wish my Kahr had one just like it. Makes re-holstering a lot less stressful.

I thought about the XD but I’ve owned 6 glocks in my life and never had a jam, not even when bump firing with 28 rd mags. Glock has earned my trust. plus, all my high cap magazines will fit in the 30 (including the 28 rounders).

The fast circ on Glocks is because of signiificant breakage. Many large-scale users of Glock knows this about the gun, and keeping stocks as new as possible makes sense.

I’ve tried glocks, a lot, and I’ll never like them. Same here. Didn't like the way they shoot, don't like the grips. I know I'll get knocked for this, but my H&K's are my favorites (9mm, 40 and 45 ACP's)
