There is a definition of a blue moon and it is NOT the second blue moon in a month...it is the forth full moon in a quarter...which is much rarer and only occurs once in a blue moon.

I stood outside last night and watched it. It was so bright and there were lots of small dark clouds moving across it, giving an eerily beautiful effect.
