She would be a nobody governor of a small state if it were not for McCain.

So despite the hell the media put her and her family through, she likes fame.

Actually she was the most popular governor in America, perhaps in history, she was already gaining fame in conservative circles as a reformer, a giant killer, a highly skilled politician, that could fight and win.

Palin consistently had approval in the 80s and reached 93%, Mitt Romney left office with 34%.

You know nothing! Sarah was the most popular governor in America and was a rising star in the party.....she would have been a huge figure (no pun) like RINO Christie except she would have been the conservative version without McCain picking her. Although being with McCain she had a run in with advisors Steve Schmdits and Nicole Wallace who’s incompetence hurt her more than anything else

I don’t think it’s the desire for “fame” that drives her decisions. I have no doubt that she feels some sort of gratitude to McCain for choosing her, however if she was really seeking “fame” for its own sake there are MANY other things she could have done at this point that would have made her a boatload of money, and would have made her more “palatable” to liberal women as well as the conservatives who already have respect for her.
